Are those people for real?
I can't imagine that this policy will exist after this story has gone public.
Holy crap, let people beat (not recommended) or not beat their kids on their own time.
What are they, trapped in the Middle Ages?
What kind of pent up anger and frustration do the administers of this school have festering inside of them?

The irony of all of this is that the school in question is about five minutes from where I live. This story has been all over the papers here.
I personally think this private school went a little too far.

Well her form of punishment doesn't seem to be working, so maybe a swat on the butt is a good idea.
Sounds like a fun school.

Maybe coincidental, but probably not ironic. ;)

The school's policy is highly unusual, but experts say it's legal. Illinois law bans corporal punishment in public schools, but the law doesn't apply to private schools.
Well, theres there loophole.
I'm sorry, i'm for spankings, I believe in them, I will practice it with my children, "spare the rod, spoil the child", or however that saying goes. But I am NOT going to force those beliefs on another person? Geez, some people lack common sence!

I don't see what is wrong with discipling children and that includes spanking. I don't think a school should tell a parent how and when to do it though. I heard about this on my local news last night and the school does state this rule of discipline to the parents before they let the students enter the school.

No school should have a right to tell parents how to discipline their children. This is stupid.

There are many differences of opinion on how to discipline children. It's not up to the school to tell parents how to do it.
