Change the bumper in graphics to those awful lines? The original NBC animated Unsolved Mysteries Logo was much better and would have transitioned better to the segment theme. Oh well at least it's on twice a day. I hope they keep it on. I would have to start a letter writing campaign if they take it off.

Not quite sure what you mean. NBC did change the opening theme in later seasons. Lifetime truncated the opening graphiscs by removing the little montage of clips from various episodes that would normally play after the "Solved" logo appeared.

Yeah, I remember when the show was on NBC, the Unsolved Mysteries title over the cross bars would slowly shoot out the TV screen before telling us which segment it would be (Unexplained Death, Wanted, Lost Love, etc.) I don't know why Lifetime had to change it.

What he means is when the show is going to/coming back from commercial, Lifetime has that white screen that has lines that turn the screen to black before the segment comes on. It's different than the NBC version, which for the life of me, I can't remember how it looked.

Because they can... did it have the NBC logo or the announcer saying "Unsolved Mysteries will return on NBC in a moment". If it did... then that explains it.

No, it did not have the nbc announcer or their logo. Even still, the lifetime lady could have overdubbed new VO and the logo would not have been on whatever cosgrove/meurer submitted to Lifetime. I just thought whatever Lifetime decided to do was cheesy

Wow, I don't think I ever noticed before. Thanks.

The 1988-'92 seasons had the black background with the red Unsolved Mysteries logo that zoomed in to where it went inside the word "mysteries" (similar to the animation after the opening disclaimer), revealing the purple (or blue) bars and the topic. The 1993-'95 seasons had the UM logo zoom in, except that it had a purplish misty background, the logo stopped rotating after 'bout 2 seconds, and the 6 bars would separate from the logo.

You are correct, sir.

Maybe lLifetime needed to squeeze in some extra commercials, so they cut the opening montage, and the segment intros. This would probably allow for about 30 more seconds of commerical time.
