June went to State. Why do you think she bothered? After all, she ended up being nothing but a housewife. Do you think she went to State to find a husband? Do you think she went to State to chase Ward? What do you think she majored in? Domestic Engineering? Being Ladylike? Do you think she has a BA? Or a BS? How did she pay for a college education anyways? Scholarships? The Bronson fortune?

I'm assuming that she went to college just incase she stayed single all her life, after all she had to work if she did. The only women who did work was single women and sometimes widows.

Actually, June was an early feminist. She went to State to party and sleep around. While she was still a student, her parents found out about her wild living and cut her off without a cent. This forced her to work as a stripper and a call girl to pay her tuition and living expenses. After getting beat up by one of her clients, a man who would later be Eddie Haskel's father, June staggered into a Katherine Kuhlman meeting, got saved, and gave up her life of iniquity. Ward was there, too, getting divested of morphine habit.
After getting settled down and raising a family, the Haskel family moved nearby. Eddie's dad told him all about Mrs. Cleaver's early exploits, and young Eddie was blackmailing her for favors. That's why Eddie seems so smug.
Now you know!
