California--those episodes seemed funnier than the other ones with them on trips.

My favorite the Ricardos/Mertez's went on has to be the Florida trip cause I love that episode where Lucy misplaces I think the train tickets and her and Ethel have to hitch a ride to Florida and soon find out that the woman(Mrs. Grudy) that is driving them could be a murderer. :lol:

For a self contained episode I always like the girls trip to Florida with Mrs Grundy.

The Bill Holden episode. Her nose catches on fire. And Bill Holden was one of the greatest actors ever.

Their trip to California was the best.

I loved their trip to Europe best some of the California episodes were kind of weak,not the true classic ones but some of the Hollywood episodes were just so so.I loved every episode when they went to Europe.

I just finished the season 5/Europe episodes and even though there were some good ones, I like the California trip better, including the traveling they did on the way.

I love the California episodes especially "California Here We Come".


The Europe episodes are classic, and I don't really remember the Florida episodes, as I don't own season five yet.

I liked when they went to California and I like the episode when they were on the train going back home and Lucy kept pulling the emergency stop lever and everything would be all over the place.

Europe is my favorite by far.I find the California episodes slightly overrated except for a few golden ones.Of the trip to California trip my favorites are First Stop on the Great Train Robbery-the coming and going episodes.

...with the side trip to Cuba, unfolded in the November-December 1956 block of episodes {beginning with "Off To Florida" w/Elsa Lancaster, and ending with the Cuban episode}, 'comedy freak'. As for me, the "Trip To Hollywood" episodes were the best extended storyline the series ever had!

I like the Florida trip best because I havent seen it repeated as much as the other trips.

I mean think about it, would you rather go to europe to see how the other part of the world lives, or Florida to walk on the white sand beaches. or HOLLYWOOD to have a chance to meet movie stars, Ill tell you this much, I too would be singing california here I come.

For me it is not really the place, but more the getting there and the coming back. I find it exciting to see them get ready for California and then drive across the country. I have a vcr in my van and when I go on a trip I confess I play the going to CA trip and I even tend to watch out for an Aunt Sally's Pecan Pralines stop! I have all the Lucy's on dvd, but I have the going to CA series and the going to Europe series on vhs tapes.They were sold in the boxed sets a long time ago. There were certain CA and certain Europe episodes that will forever give me a chuckle. In Europe I always loved Lucy's first day in Paris and seeing her trying to eat escargoes ( I think a cousin of yours ate my geranium plant), and I love fashion and was glad that on both trips they had a fashion show episode. But the episode that I think gives me the biggest laugh is Lucy coming home from Europe with the cheese for her mom disquised as a baby. Though I have seen it about a million times I still lose it when the stewardess asks if she can keep the baby's bottle in the fridge and Lucy starts to hand the "baby" over to her thinking she is going to keep the cheese in the fridge.( He hates to eat alone ) I do confess that their travelling episodes are my favorites as I dream of travelling all the time. Not only are Europe and CA among my faves, but Florida and also the move to Connecticut. Though some of those last episodes are a little weak, I think the moving and new atmosphere get to me. So much so that one of my favorite CT episodes is when they travel BACK to NY to see the show and Lucy knocks Ethel's purse out of the balcony. I think I live vicariously through the Ricardos and their travels, so forgive me for getting so off the original question of my favorite place! They ALL are!!
