I was thinking the same thing. Actually, there were several scenes where stuff was said, and things were done in front of Roper/Furley, that related in some way to Jack being straight, and they didn't say anthing. I always found that strange.

Yea I think the writers goofed up with that.

Well, I don't mean to intrude here, but Jack having a girl for the new roommate made a lot more sense than Janet bringing a guy. After all, Furley made it very clear that his brother would not tolerate a straight man living in that apartment with the two girls, so how could Janet think it would be all right for her to move her boyfriend in? Was she going to share her room with him or was she going to kick Jack out of his room and make the two guys share the bedroom? Jack's bringing a girl was what Furley would have been used to and more acceptable than Janet bringing a guy in there. :crazy:

Good points. You took the words straight out of my mouth. Furthermore, both Larry and Furley brought woman friends over in hopes that they would become the next roommates for Jack and Janet.

Also, even if Furley did believe that Jack was really gay, that doesn't mean that Jack cannot have a woman as an ordinary friend. And I don't think there was any strong reason for Furley to suspect that the woman Jack brought to his home was anything more than a woman friend - just like how he assumed Chrissy was nothing more than a friend to Jack.

Yeah but my point is that the woman Jack bought over was presumed to be his girlfriend in front of Furley.

The real question is what Happened to Janet's Boyfriend after this episode?-LOL Or did Janet just have a Off-Screen Relationship.

If Janet didn't have a boyfriend that entire season i'm just puzzled at why they would give her one in that episode out of no where-lol

We learn that Mrs Roper knows that Jack is staright. You would think she would slip it out. Mr Furley must be dumber then we thought because he was on longer then The Ropers just once you would think he would figure it out. Everybody knew he was straight but Furley. You would think somebody would tell him by mistake

My Point is the Janet Wood Character was known for not having a boyfriend the first 5 seasons so for her to walk in the Apt and say that guy was her boyfriend was strange-lol Jack on the other hand was known for having different girlfriends. Janet rarely went on dates or kissed guys so seeing her with a man was funny

Janet's boyfriend went off with Jack's girlfriend, Maxeen, at the end of the episode after Cindy explained how they were a "prefect couple" and that there was a one bedroom apartment avaliable for rent.

Don't you remember how this episode ended? Janet left her boyfriend in the living room, as did Jack with his girlfriend and both Janet and Jack entered the kitchen to debate as to who should be their next roommate. By the time they returned to the living room, the boyfriend and girlfriend had started talking to each other and started a relationship with each other and walked out together before Cindy arrived. We can safely assume that as of that moment, but Janet and Jack lost their relationships.

Actually, they walked out after Cindy arrived. Cindy asked them their astrology signs and told them about the apartment for rent. THEN they walked out together.
