I agree, and Whoopi Goldberg should've beat Halle Berry to the punch 16 years earlier and won "Best Actress" for her performance in that movie. She's done a lot of great work since, but Celie will always be the definitive performance of her career. I think Holly Hunter should've won for Best Supporting Actress in Thirteen (anyone agree?) I haven't seen Cold Mountain but IMO from the clips and things I've seen for it, it looks boring and the Academy only let Renee Zellweger win to make themselves look superior! Holly should've won...her performance was amazing! Catherine Hardwick (is that her name?) and Nikki Reed should've been nominated for Best Screenplay for Thirteen...it was amazing! Let's see Renee Zellweger or Hollywood's precious Nicole Kidman come up with a script as amazing as that! |
