Has anybody heard of Disneyland? I've seen the commercial and on the radio or even on the internet that Disneyland is celebrating 50 years as the first Disney theme park ever. I'll have more on this in the months ahead. In the meantime, I stumbled through my video tapes and I found rare Disneyland documentries I already copied off of Disney Channel back in the late-90's where Vault Disney used to be on late nights, not anymore. I keep it for my personal collection. I have a number of Disneyland documentries I have on VHS. I'll convert it into a DVD-R. Here are the following tapes that I have in my collection:

1. "The Disneyland Story" (1954) - A preview of Disney's first theme park.
2. "Dateline: Disneyland" (1955)- A rare 1955 TV special celebrates the opening of Disneyland featuring Art Linkletter, Bob Cummings and the late Ronald Regan.
3. "Disneyland USA" (1956) - A Disney People & Places Documentry
4. "The Adventures In the Magic Kingdom" (1958) - a 1958 special using footage from "Disneyland USA".
5. "Gala Day in Disneyland" (1960)- A documentry short film
6. "Disneyland After Dark" (1962)- A TV special features a tour of nighttime extravaganza with lot of performances and others. It features the Osmonds before they made their first appearances on the "Andy Williams Show" singing "Side By Side". For those of you remember the movie "Side By Side: The True Story of the Osmond Family", they did the same thing too.
7. "The Golden Horseshoe Revue" (1963) - A TV special of a Disneyland attraction with lots of fun and songs and even do variety bits.
8. "Holiday Time in Disneyland" (1962) - A Christmas special in Disneyland
9. "Disneyland Goes to the World's Fair" (1964) - A preview of "It's a Small World (After All)" from the 1964 World's Fair in Queens, NY. Not to be carried in Disneyland.
10. "Disneyland Around the Seasons" (1966) - A look at Disneyland through the entire seasons.
11. "Disneyland: From the Pirates of the Caribbean to the World of Tomorrow" (1968) - A look at Disneyland's newest attraction "The Pirates of the Caribbean" and the newly remodeled Tomorrowland.
12. "The Magic of Disneyland" (1969) - A short documentry about Disneyland. Same thing as above.
13. "Disneyland Showtime" (1970) - A TV special about the Osmonds at Disneyland featuring a young Kurt Russell. The special was shown until their first record "One Bad Apple" hit the charts a year later.
14. "Disneyland's 25th Anniversary" (1980) - A special hosted by Danny Kaye.
15. "A Progress Report" (1955) - A special features a middle of the construction site for Disneyland.
16. "A Pre-Opening Report on Disneyland" (1955) - A special about the finishing touches of the theme park ready to open.
17. "Mannheim Steamroller Meets the Mouse" (1999) - A behind the scenes look at the making of an album hosted by "Partridge Family's" Shirley Jones. It was taped at Disneyland.

I have all 17 copies on VHS. I'm still converting into a DVD-R so that I can keep it. Will have more as soon as we get it. For more information about Disneyland's 50th anniversary, check out our website:

I like Disney World better. Next year will be 35 years. Disney World is the second largest Disney theme park ever. For those of you remember the old documentries on "Disneyland". I have all 17 of them on VHS. Do you remember the 1972 documentry called "The Magic of Walt Disney World"? It was a 30-minute featurette gives you a guided tour of Disney World. Before there was no Epcot, no MGM Studios, and so on. I have a copy of that I taped off of Disney Channel 6 years ago where Vault Disney was used to be on late nights before they pulled the plug. I've been to Disney World for 11 years. I hope that I will go back again anytime soon.:)

Disneyland is so much better than Disneyworld. Downtown Disney isn't 50 billion miles away from the park, like it is in Florida. So much more convienent. And the florida weather is horrible, I would not go back there for all the money in the world... well, maybe all the money in the world is long as I didn't have to stay there. It made it unenjoyable because it's like, humid. I don't know how to explain it's like liquid in the air, gross. The only thing I enjoyed was Epcot, so neat going through the lil "countries".

I LUV DISNEYLAND! HAPPY 50TH. I'M GOING PRETTY SOON AND I LOVE IT THERE, NOT JUST THERE BUT LA IN GENERAL. I MAY NOT BE A LIL BABY OR CHILD BUT GOD IT'S SO MUCH FUN. When I'm all old and haggard I'll probably still wanna go there. I don't see how anyone can grow out of that place.

OH MY GOD I LOVE DISNEYLAND. IM HAVING AN ORGASM JUST THHINKING ABOUT IT OFFFFFFFEFEEGHYHTTHBTHJJMK,I

I definitely want to go to Disneyland for the 50th anniversary. I would love to ride Space Mountain after a few years of waiting. There isn't a time I haven't been to Disneyland and haven't had fun.

I wish I could go to Disney World but that's all the way across the country.

I don't think there's any chance that I'll go this year, but I would love to go again. The last time I went was last spring break and that was only my third time, but damn it was fun. I loved it and I hope that I go to college in SoCal next year so I'll be able to visit the park whenever.

In addition to the 50th anniversary, I have 3 episodes of "Win, Lose or Draw" from Disneyland. I copied off of the old GSN last year. That will be part of the 50th anniversary of the happiest place in the land.
