Okay, here's what's happening. This is a "Family Ties" role play. If you don't know what a role play is, it is where ppl pick a character to act out and they take part in an ongoing story. eg:

Three ppl are playing Steven and Mallory and Jennifer. The First person posts:

Steven: Hey girls, whatcha doin?

And the second person might post:

Mallory: Oh hey dad. We're rehearsing Jennifer's school play. They're doing "Romeo and Juliet". Jen got one of the lead parts.

And the first person might post

Steven: Oh Jennifer that's great! Who are you playing?

And the third person might post:

Jennifer: Juliet

Anyway you get the idea (and if you don't by now... :rolleyes: ) But there are some rules:

1) Each person only gets one character (unless we don't have enough ppl then some ppl will have to double up) you shouldn't post for another character (its just not fair :p )

2) I suggest if you are going to take part in this you check the updates regularly because if one character is expected to respond and they never show up, its not quite as good.

3) Obviously, don't post anything gross or vulgar. (Its not nice and ruins it for others.

Hi Kirstie. Sure you can join. The two characters we doubled up are Steven and Nick, Although from an earlier post I'm not sure if AJP is playing Steven :p So I guess that means you can be Nick.

Remember, as I said before, you can post as any character, no matter who. Because of the time differences, different people tend to be here at different times and it can get annoying waiting for a response so if you feel a character should say something, post a message as them as long as it says the name of your character eg:

Its fine to post as whoever you want as long as you only post for one character each post. What I mean is I can post as Alex for one post, but if I then want to post as Elyse, they can't be in the same post. Did that make sense? :p

Ellen: Wow, I never thought I see the day. Mallory and Skippy together.

*Mallory spills a bit of ketchup on her shirt and before she has to say anything, Skippy runs to get her some napkins*

Ellen-*to Alex* "You could learn something from Skippy, Alex."

Alex: JUST A PICTURE!! (his hand is still at his heart and he starts looking wobbly) I think I need to sit down.

Elyse: (to the entire family) => Today is my birthday and I'm sad. :crying:

Mallory: Mom, why are you sad? We know it's your birthday. We're going out to dinner remember? Happy Birthday!

Before Jennifer gets a chance to give Elyse a hint Alex blurts out that her gift is a day at the spa.

Mallory: Dad wants to get to spend some time with you so we're all going out so you two can have some time together. Alex is going over to Ellen's. Jennifer's taking Andy to see ET, and Skippy and I are going over to his house. We might go with his Mom to the store. She wants to buy some new clothes. She went through her closet and now needs a few things. Have a nice time with Dad. Lets go Skippy.

Skippy and Mallory leave. Alex, Jennifer and Andy leave as well.

Steven: (to elyse) => no, I don't believe it; we finally have the whole house to ourselves.

Alex: Aw c'mon Mal. He'll get over it. He's a big boy.

Alex: Aw Mallory I'm sorry, but you know how I get..."passionate" about these things. Do you really think Ellen was embarassed?

Before Steven has a chance to speak Mallory starts talking.

Mallory: I can explain. We were watching a movie and fell asleep. Skippy and I just woke up a few minutes ago.

Jennifer and Alex both run over to the phone and fight over it.

Steven & Elyse: (to jennifer and alex) => ok, you two; stop that fighting.

Alex: Mom, dad, I was just standing here, minding my own business, waiting ever so politely for Mallory to get off the phone so I could call Ellen. When Jennifer just comes BARGING in and demands that she needs to use the phone. I tried to reason with her but she wouldn't listen. So I wasn't fighting. I was simply defending my right to use the phone first.

Jennifer: Mom that is so unfair! Mine is more urgent. Alex just wants to talk lovey-dovey with Ellen.

Jennifer: Alex I'm just here to remind you how long you have on the phone. I'm timing you. You have 15 minutes.

Alex: Andy, I only have 15 min. I'll be there when I'm finished.

Jennifer: Alex you had 15 minutes left 3 HOURS AGO!! It is my turn! If you're so desperate to speak to Ellen, go visit her!"

Alex: Fine jen. Maybe I will. (to Ellen on phone) Ellen? Yeah I'll see you in a little while. Okay. Bye then. (hangs up the phone) There you go Jen. I'm going to visit Ellen. I'll see ya later. Hey Mal, can you tell mom and dad I'm going out?

Mal: Sure thing Alex.

(Alex exits through the Outside door)
