Moonlighting - Street Date, Cost, & Cover Art Now Available!

Online retailer DVDPlanet.com has added a pre-order listing for Moonlighting - Seasons 1 and 2 on DVD. The listing reveals that the cost of the 6-DVD set will be $49.95 SRP (but of course the e-tailer discounts it; an advance order from them currently goes for just $34.97). They show the release date to be Tuesday, May 31st.

We've recently reported on extras for this release:

Commentaries from Cast & Crew, including Cybill Shepard, Bruce Willis, and creator Glenn Caron
Commentary from the President of the Moonlighting Fan Club
Featurettes, including a spotlight on the show's fans
Premium Packaging for the DVDs, with what should be 25 hours of episodes from the first two seasons

Also, in a Wired News report posted yesterday that I was heavily quoted in, "Copyrights Keep TV Shows off DVD", reporter Katie Dean confirms a previous report that there are NO music issues with this release: "the first two seasons of the show are scheduled for release...with the music intact, " Dean reports. The same article was accompanied by the first look at the cover art for Moonlighting - Seasons 1 and 2, graciously provided by Lions Gate, and here it is for you to enjoy!

Pre Ordering is easy and quick. I have pre ordered many things. The good thing about pre-ordering is that they don't charge your credit cards until they ship the item. Amazon is the only one that I have pre-ordered from. They are very great and the shipping is always fast. I usually get it before the date that they have estimated. I would recommend them for anyone.

I have pre ordered from Amazon too and never had any problems. But it's only listed on Amazon.com so far, not Amazon.co.uk.

The price on Amazon was just under $35, plus it qualifies for free shipping, and there was no tax.
The free shipping will probably add a week to the shipping time though.

I pre-ordered it. I know that I will actually be in the stores on May 31 to buy the set. I will use my Amazon order as a back-up. I guess I'm admitting that I'm a little obsessed with Moonlighting since I have to have at least 2 sets of the DVDs!

I've never seen the show before, but I've heard a lot of good things and may just blind-buy this set.

Don't DVDs that are released in the USA usually come out later in the UK? That seems to be the case with films, anyway.

But I have a multi-region DVD player so it's okay with me :lol:

Tamm, from what I've heard, you'll definitely need a multi-region DVD player to be able to view the DVDs. Cindy reckons that Lions Gate are probably only releasing the DVDs for Region 1 - USA and Canada. I've asked over at Bruce's site about this, and somehow I think unless we all get multi region DVD players and order the DVD from Amazon.com, we wont be seeing the DVD in UK shops anytime soon.

Silly to ignore the European market. Moonlighting videos sell well in the UK so I m sure the dvds will too. Just look how many of us there are on this board (at least proportionately)
