This is ridiclous... :mad: Happened on February 19th, British Airways flight from Los Angeles to London. I don't really care if a 747 can fly on 3 engines, this happened ON TAKEOFF when the plane still had to climb 30,000 feet. They had 5 hours over the U.S. to land somewhere, ANYWHERE. They could have gone over the Pacific, dumped some fuel, and then came back to LAX.

But wait... the plane had to land in Manchester, 170 miles away to avoid running out of FUEL!

Apparently they wanted to "avoid" having to pay passengers for landing at another airport, and then they ended up having to do it anyway.

why did i have to read this 2 days before i have to get on a plane? a very ghetto one might i add.

Yeah, but you know money is so much more important than people's lives. :rolleyes:
That was a disaster just waiting to happen. They're lucky it didn't.

This kind of stuff is why I don't like flying anymore.

Exactly. I don't care if it causes the airline to go bankrupt... you bet they would have been SHUT DOWN if 350 had died because of a stupid mistake such as this. :rolleyes:

British Airways is SUCH a respected airline too. ohno:
