Is the Alcatraz segment on the Mysterious Legends dvd edited? It doesn't seem like it would be the full length of an episode like the Alcatraz special. I'm recording it from Lifetime to compare.

The Alcatraz special ran 90 minutes originally. Without commercials, it would probably be more like 65-70 minutes. Justin Blackout 03-02-2005, 10:33 PM someone on this board claimed the DVD version is 28:33 long, which would be even shorter than the Lifetime version I'd assume then again, seeing a fat guy swim across the lake isnt really something to worry about missing ddelta 03-03-2005, 02:06 PM During the original episode on NBC that was 90 minutes they profiled two or three cases of prison escapees (one was of those French prisoners that escaped from the car). That might be why it was so much longer. That might be why it was so much longer. The 90 minute version also included some more historic information about the prison as well as a profile of two men who attempted an escape in the thirties, if I remember correctly. -J Blackout 03-07-2005, 05:43 PM its a shame alcatraz was shut down, it looked like it did a damn good job preventing successful escapes considering nobody conclusively survived any of them all you gotta do is fix it up and treat the inmates a little less like the scum they are |
