We'll dispense with the Cone of Silence for this one! Industry sources have passed along whispers that Get Smart is finally being looked at for DVD. Yes, they are said to be moving on this at last, trying to time a release between the months of Sept. 2005 and May 2006. That timeframe marks the 40th anniversary of the airing of the first season of the show, and - though the actual studio has not been named - we hear that the powers-that-be are anxious to make that deadline.

We'll see if they can pull it off! If they can't make that ("missed it by THAT much!"), they are said to want to try to tie in a release to the new Get Smart film that's in the works.

This show is one of my personal favorites, and I'm very happy to be posting this gossip this morning. How accurate will it turn out to be? Would you believe that you should stay tuned?

Get Smart used to be one of my favorite shows back a few years ago, so this is definetly good news for me. It would be awesome to see it again after all this time.

Get Smart has always been one of my favorite shows of the 1960's. This is great news.

This is definitely great news! I have loved Get Smart for so many years and it will be nice to finally have it on DVD. :)

yeah I haven't seen Get Smart since it wa on TV Land. I only taped two episodes while it was still on to. I have to add Get Smart to my check list of DVDs I want with The Odd Couple later this year and Beaver in November

Having Get Smart on DVD would be great. I have all the episodes on VHS because I recorded the whole week of Nick-At-Nite's "Maximum Smart" in 1991. It took 12 six-hour tapes and a lot of middle-of-the-night tape changes and it was worth it, but I'd rather have the DVD set! :)

Get Smart was a classic show...I can't wait to get the entire series on DVD... but a movie? I hate modern-day Hollywood

Don't know if I can wait that long for the dvds to arrive. I do have about a dozen episodes on my pc from seasons 2 and 3. Would love to swap for other episodes if anyone out there has some? Alabamacreamsoda@hotmail.com.
