View Full Version : Will You Watch The Academy Awards Tonight? Janice 02-27-2005, 12:28 PM I can't wait. I never miss the show. AllIWantIsYourClutch 02-27-2005, 12:29 PM No, I hate award shows. Janice 02-27-2005, 12:30 PM No, I hate award shows. Then vote on the poll. :) TJL 02-27-2005, 12:33 PM Well, unless I hear that I'm going back to work tomorrow, I'll watch the whole thing. Can't wait to see Chris Rock bomb. Brian Damage 02-27-2005, 12:34 PM I love the Oscars and wish I could watch all of it. Unfortunately, I'm working tomorrow at 5 am, so I'll have to go to bed early. Maybe I'll record it. TJL 02-27-2005, 12:38 PM Question - What is the official start time of the awards ceremony? I don't give a crap about the red carpet stuff, what time does the actual show start? JT 02-27-2005, 12:41 PM The only awards show I ever watch anymore is The Daytime Emmys, so nope. Cactus Jack 02-27-2005, 12:43 PM Of course!!!!:D Janice 02-27-2005, 12:45 PM Question - What is the official start time of the awards ceremony? I don't give a crap about the red carpet stuff, what time does the actual show start? I just checked my local listings, lol, and it has it at 8:30 on ABC. What, you don't care who's wearing Vera Wang, Halston, etc? x3 Taylor x3 02-27-2005, 12:48 PM Nope. In other words, yes. TJL 02-27-2005, 12:49 PM What, you don't care who's wearing Vera Wang, Halston, etc? It's all nonsense. Besides, you know I'm a Calvin Klein man... Janice 02-27-2005, 12:55 PM Who's handling the red carpet interviews? Probably obnoxious Joan Rivers and her equally obnoxious daughter...or are they on E! So hard to keep things straight. MaydayMalonesGirl 02-27-2005, 01:05 PM No. I haven't seen any of those movies that are nominated, anyways. I just hope that Lowell wins something for that movie he's in. That would be fun. Janice 02-27-2005, 01:08 PM I just hope that Lowell wins something for that movie he's in. That would be fun. I saw Sideways, and Thomas Haden Church stole the show, so I'm rooting for him too. I don't think he'll win though. Morgan Freeman is favored to win for Million Dollar Baby. TJL 02-27-2005, 01:34 PM Who's handling the red carpet interviews? Probably obnoxious Joan Rivers and her equally obnoxious daughter...or are they on E! So hard to keep things straight. Joan amd Melissa are now on the TV Guide channel. I believe Star Jones handles all the sucking up for E! ;) HuntingtonM15 02-27-2005, 01:48 PM Yes, I can't wait. I've been anxiously waiting for a while now. Even though Hilary is favored to win, I'm still really nervous about that category. Mr. Television 02-27-2005, 01:59 PM Yea I'm watching. I always do. MissZero 02-27-2005, 02:07 PM normally i would watch, but I think the "Oprah Winfrey Presents:....." movie is on tonight. MissZero 02-27-2005, 02:09 PM nevermind...the Oprah movie is on next week....so I guess I'll be watching the Oscars *Pleasant Tomorrow* 02-27-2005, 03:11 PM Yeah, I just feel like I have to watch them. And no, I have not seen ONE of the movies nominated. :) robyrob 02-27-2005, 03:15 PM What, you don't care who's wearing Vera Wang, Halston, etc? ...as long as it aint me, no. Janet McFarland 02-27-2005, 04:25 PM Of course :D Jonathan 02-27-2005, 04:28 PM I might tune in, not sure yet. theanswerman 02-27-2005, 05:17 PM si si Zebra 3 02-27-2005, 05:18 PM I'll be watching it mainly for clips, buzz about the nominees and the entertainment, but not for the awards themselves, which I find boring - even annoying at times, eg. "I'm the king of the world!" - James Cameron, Titanic's director and fulltime assclown. x3 Taylor x3 02-27-2005, 05:44 PM Yeah, I just feel like I have to watch them. And no, I have not seen ONE of the movies nominated. :) Me neither snl75 02-27-2005, 07:19 PM yep i will be watching i havent seen a single one of those movies ether but chris rock is a former snl cast member so as a long time snl and chris rock fan i will watch just to see him. one thing about him hosting this year it will be memroable one way or the other. Mijada 02-27-2005, 07:28 PM I'll watch a little of it then I'm going to bed, I'm anxious to see if The Aviator wins anything. EmoJoe 02-27-2005, 07:38 PM I am cause my whole family is...so i guess i will too JT 02-27-2005, 08:39 PM Oh yeah I'll watch the memorials to see if they even give a smidgeon of mention for my beloved Ruth Warrick...but for the rest, I'll be watching The Dukes of Hazzard and my DH tapes. Janice 02-27-2005, 08:42 PM Oh yeah I'll watch the memorials to see if they even give a smidgeon of mention for my beloved Ruth Warrick...but for the rest, I'll be watching The Dukes of Hazzard and my DH tapes. I think Ruth Warrick will be included in the "In Memorium" segment of the show. I would be very surprised if she wasn't. She was a Hollywood star before her daytime career. It's usually about three quarters into the show. JT 02-27-2005, 08:55 PM Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. Ever since I learned she was in Citizen Kane, I've always wanted to see it. And I find it so ironic that she was in that movie, Citizen Kane. Talk about foreshadowing... snl75 02-28-2005, 01:04 AM not one meniton of miss warrick its a shame i liked her too Janice 02-28-2005, 01:08 AM Oh yeah I'll watch the memorials to see if they even give a smidgeon of mention for my beloved Ruth Warrick... :( Unbelievable. They mentioned agents, camermen, you name it, but not a Hollywood icon. dawsongirl 02-28-2005, 01:43 AM :( Unbelievable. They mentioned agents, camermen, you name it, but not a Hollywood icon. Why don't I find that shocking... They do the same thing at the Emmys too. It's pathetic that they don't include everyone. bossradio93 02-28-2005, 02:18 AM I only was curious to find out what film got the Oscar for "Best Picture" It was "Million Dollar Baby". I hoped "Ray" would win for that title, but I was pleased Jamie Foxx won the Best Actor Oscar for his part portraying legendary Ray Charles! :clap Lady T 02-28-2005, 02:20 AM No, I did not watch the Oscar's tonight, even though I was in the LA area. I had other things on my mind and things I had to do... :) TJL 02-28-2005, 04:58 AM I won my Oscar pool! 80 bucks baby!! :happyface Sterling Holobyte 02-28-2005, 11:54 AM Frankly, I'm sick of awards shows. I mean, how many times a year do people in Hollywood need to applaud themselves, while we watch? Are they really that egotistical, or just really neurotic? And no, I didn't watch. Surprise, surprise. ;) |
