I have owned a sony portable cd player for about three years now. However, it started to malfunction about three months ago when I replaced the batteries; the buttons to go back and forward don't work anymore; they get stuck. Also when listening to a cd the player sometimes stops by itself. I contacted sony about this problem; they told me to remove the batteries for about thirty minutes but this didn't solve the problem. The cost of repair with sony is far more than what the unit cost; an independent dealer wants $25 just to inspect it. I thought it would be a better investment to buy a new sony. Are there any players out there without mp3 that have amfm tv tuner and cd-r cd-rw playback. Any opinions are greatly appreciated

I have a phillips that I ordered off of overstock.com for almost 50% off and it was the best move I made....its really good on batteries and is high quality.

I as well have a Phillips. I love it. I've also dropped it a million times, and it's very sturdy.
