I have owned a sony portable cd player for about three years now but it has been malfunctioning for about three months now when I changed the batteries. The buttons to advance and go back tracks don't work. Also the display sometimes goes blank and the player stops when playing a cd. I contacted sony about this problem and they told me to remove the batteries, but the above problems still persist. The cost of repair with sony is far more than what the unit cost and an independent dealer wants $25 just to look at it. I think it would be a better investment just to buy a new one. Are there any good Sony portable players without mp3 playback, but with the following: amfm tuner, tv, and cdr-cdrw playback.
What company makes the best portable cd players?
Panasonic
Sony
JVC
Aiwa

Sorry for posting twice; I thought it didn't post the first time. Thanks for your replies.

They aren't cheap anymore, my dad wanted one for Xmas and they were all $40+ which sucks because the one I have was $20 and came with a cord to plug it in. None of these had a cord.
