View Full Version : What would have Happened If Patrick Duffy Had Not Returned in 1986?
Mike22580 02-25-2005, 02:45 AM I was watching the dream season a couple of weeks ago, and i was wondering
how they would have handled it, if Patrick Duffy had not returned to the show
in the last episode of that season we see Sue Ellen walking into JR's Office and then a huge explosion, it would have been interesting to have seen what the seasons would have been like if Patrick had not returned.

It probably wouldn't have lasted as long as it did but considering the last 2 seasons that might be a good thing. The show however was missing something without him and I don't think the producers realized at the time that next to Larry Hagman ,Patrick Duffy was the most important actor on Dallas.

Well, they should have brought Bobby back, but it shouldn't have been a dream. Instead, Bobby has been held captive for the past year by Katherine Wentworth (who didn't die after hitting Bobby with her car) Angelica had schemed with Katherine to fake Bobby's death (a la Days of Our Lives). Bobby had been in a coma and when he woke up escaped and went home to Pam, who wasn't home at the time and passes out in the bathroom. When he wakes up he decides to take a shower, and Pam comes in. Meanwhile, everything that happened to Sue Ellen and Jamie happens. This is where the 1986-1987 season begins.
Having been in a coma, Bobby doesn't realize he's been missing for an entire year. Thus, everything is back to normal for Bobby and Pam and he can then get married.
So, Jamie is dead but Sue Ellen is rushed to the hospital in critical condition. J.R. is by her side and the doctors come in to tell him that both Sue Ellen and her baby are in grave danger, YES, Sue Ellen is pregnant.
I just felt that the dream cheated us. I loved the dream season and wish it hadn't been a dream.

That actually sounds pretty good but the only problem is that you still had Bobby's death bed scene.
snl75 03-03-2005, 01:24 AM you know one other thing that never really got properly resolved was the fate of mark i mean did he fake his death or didnt he i wish pam had at least gone back to sleep long enough to let us find out what happend to him once and for all

Sue Ellen would have probably died since Linda Gray was fired from the show for about a day until Larry Hagman decided to quit if they let her go. Needless to say, Linda was back on the payroll again.
