He was a big cocaine smoker in the 70s, then became a minister. But when I called his agent for an interview for my book about Lear and his shows, he wanted money. Still the only person that asked for a fee to do a short interview. Maybe he wants charity for the ol' church. Yeah i heard the same thing about about Demond and Lear aboutt he gun. Demond did look mighty strung out in some of the later episodes; the ones where he wore the sunglasses all the time.
