Blondie is a punk rock band

I know but they sort of seem out of place among the other choices you listed. All the others are known for a harder brand of hard rock, and when you think about it, Blondie was more than just punk rock.

Not really hard rock, but my favorite is Cheap Trick. Robin Zander, the lead singer, is so sexy and has the best voice!

Blondie was actually more of a New Wave band then a punk band. They also flirted with other musical styles like disco (Heart of Glass) and hip-hop (Rapture).

I like all the acts listed, but Guns N Roses received the vote

I think GNR had so much potential that wasn't fully realized because of all the inner-tensions in the band predominantly with Axl and the others. I think one or two more albums (not counting The Spaghetti Incident) and they could've been the hard rock equivilent to The Beatles, but it wasn't to be, and we'll never know now.

I beg to differ. Def Leppard are not a hard rock band at the present moment, but they certainly were back in the On Through The Night/High And Dry/Pyromania days, they just happened to get poppier with each successive album.

Bon Jovi also did rock back in the Slippery When Wet/New Jersey days, they were never metal, but both of those albums had a lot of rockers, but like Def Lep, they got more pop as the 90's came along.

How come Led Zeppelin are not on the list? They are the band that I would have voted for if they had been on the list.

I think GNR was a band whoes days were numbered the day Appetite For Destruction hit number one in August 1988. Only a year and a half later drummer Steven Adler was fired from the band, Izzy quit shortly after the Use You Illusion albums were released. I just don't think that GNR was a band long for the world. Appetite, GNR Lies and the two Use Your Illusions albums are all masterpieces, and thankfully we have them to listen to for many years to come. GNR is like The Beatles and Led Zeppelin, they will live on through the music.

well, I think Bill And Ted's list is slanted to the 80's, which probably was why we didn't see Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple or Black Sabbath on the list (even tho BS had some good stuff with Dio in the 1980's). I know that KISS will always be associated as a 70's band but IMO, some of their best music (Lick It Up, Creatures Of The Night, Animalize...) came from the Reagan administration so I can see why they'd have a spot here.

But what kinda "best hard rock band" list is it without the gods of metal, Jethro Tull? LOL

blondie, bon jovi and def leppard aren't really "hard rock" Bon Jovi and Def Leppard aren't hard rock?? Uhh, we HAVE heard On Through the Night, High and Dry, and Pyromania?

And many people think that Bon Jovi wasn't very "hard rock", but without them, the doors to bands like Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax would have stayed closed in 1986.
