View Full Version : Question about Leah (yes, appearance again)...
the truth 02-23-2005, 10:09 PM I can understand the sweats she's wearing and such after coming off pregnancy, but much like the episode they did about the same thing, WHAT'S WITH THE HAIR IN THE BUN? Is this necessary? It's becoming a mainstay each week. I thought we established in that episode that this look...."is butt-ugly girl!"
Thoughts? ...and when might it change? I mean...even with sweats, is there any reason she can't wear her hair down?....or a reason possibly for wearing it up each week? Heck, maybe they're kind of mocking that episode and trying to see if any of the "true" fans realize what they're doing. Just something I'm noticing here lately.
Hey, at least it's down in scene 2! :)
dandelion wine 02-23-2005, 10:28 PM Doug's wearing a shirt under his jersey. This just isn't right!!! Son of a bitch. I can no longer watch King of Queens.
Ok seriously, I have no problem with Doug wearing a shirt under his jersey. Nor do I have a problem with his weight. I have no problem with Doug, period. He's a funny guy. No offense, but I couldn't resist making the above comment.
So Leah hasn't lost all of the weight she gained while pregnant. And now they have her wearing sweats and her hair's up in a bun throughout most of the show. I really don't see what the big deal is. I mean, she doesn't look that much different than she did before. Not everybody thinks the same way when it comes to her or the show, and that I can understand and respect. But come on, can't we give her a break? She's a beautiful woman and if her hair's up all the damn time, so be it. Like you said, at least it's down now. Like I said, no offense but I just wanted to comment. :)

I think she looks cute with her hair in a bun. :D

Yeah, I think that's why we're seeing Leah in the sweats more often. Both her and Carrie are going through the same thing, only Carrie wasn't pregnant. So it makes sense.

I don't think she looks bad at all. I noticed that about people here in Queens [or New York in general] too. They'll wear a comfy pair of sweats and tie their hair in a bun or just a ponytail. For some reason it feels better when you tie your hair while your wearing sweats, don't know why but it does. :)
ricardo/mertz 03-02-2005, 11:20 PM Just curious, what is the big deal about Doug wearing a shirt under a jersey? Was it a dress shirt or something? I missed that.
dandelion wine 03-02-2005, 11:22 PM It wasn't a big deal, I was just making a joke because of the comment made about Leah's hair.
ricardo/mertz 03-02-2005, 11:41 PM Oh, I get it. Sorry, it takes me awhile sometimes.

It's ok. :)
the truth 03-03-2005, 05:38 PM But you must admit, it's funny how they're doing episodes about Carrie being "unattractive" now isn't it? First they buy the home gym where "the Hulk" gives them "workouts" but Doug doesn't get his, he just wants Carrie to lose weight because she won't fit into anything. Now they've got construction workers who her real life husband was a part of, giving her fake compliments at Doug's request/bribing so she'll feel better about how she looks and so Doug can get her to feel better about turning "35". I guess next week Doug'll send her to the old "fat farm" and complete the trilogy. Sound good? :D

Sound good? :DNo its not funny.I'd mourn too if I was 35 that 5 years away 40.I hated the fact I turned 26 in November which is now 4 years away from 30 plus your fat farm comment wasn't funny and so sorry to disappoint you but there is no fat farm episode and next weeks is a rerun.Oh well..That's all I have to say to you.Mel
HuntingtonM15 03-03-2005, 07:38 PM next weeks is a rerun
It figures, the week I don't have class Wednesday night, it's a rerun.
Storywriter 03-03-2005, 07:42 PM It figures, the week I don't have class Wednesday night, it's a rerun. :rolleyes:Oh man that stinks that you have class every night there's a new episode. Its the one when Doug is suppose to go the overeaters meeting but winds up in the men is abusive relationships meeting. Its the 2nd or 3rd episode from Season 7.Mel

I'm on my way to the big 3-5 this year. I wouldn't say I was in mourning!lol
I felt the same way you do about turning thirty.
And a comment about the construction workers, some of you people are soooo shallow!

Well, I've got news for you, if you don't die, you WILL turn 35, then 40 so enjoy your youth. Being 40 myself, I can tell you that you can't even believe what starts happening to you. It truely is all downhill after your 20s so enjoy the four years you've got left. Eyesight, hearing, stamina, appetite - they're all affected as you go on. You don't get old all at once, it happens gradually and it happens to everyone so start dealing with it. Must just be harder for women since they have to try to keep their superficial physical world going but can't after 35. Oh well, if you're not making your living in Hollywood, it shouldn't be a problem for you.
And uh...I was kidding about the fat farm....but they should look into it.
glenny 03-04-2005, 08:01 PM Maybe they could do a episode about Carrie getting liposuction ( a present from Doug) which actually causes her to gain more weight because Doug used a cheap surgeon from a coupon he found.

LMAO  kinda like the eye surgery thing HAHA that was funny!

Nice pep talk. I read it like an Army drill Sargent.
A lipo ep would be a good one. Only Carrie buys it for Doug.
Molson 03-12-2005, 01:08 AM The thing that really bothers me is that, all through the seasons they have been on tv pretty much every show that I have seen revolves somehow on Doug's weight and how much he eats....
Well now that she's had the baby and she still hasn't lost all that weight, I don't think they should be doing his weight issue again, like they just did on Wednesday nite....her anger vs his weight.....
I also noticed that while she was pregnant in real life they usually try at least hide it on the show if they are not going to incorperate it in......
But IMO they didn't do a very good job at that at all.....

Wednesday's episode was a repeat. They have already addressed her weight.

When did they address her weight??? Who initiated what??? I must have missed it also I though Wednesday nite was a new one.....
Hhmm...I wonder how many I have missed....
Ya but they are always making a show around Doug's eating...I wonder if that has contributed to his weight gain cause of all the times they would have to do the takes over and over.....

Her weight was directly addressed in episode "Gym Neighbors" which aired on Feb 9th.
Storywriter 03-12-2005, 02:35 AM And I think the episode from last week when she turned 35 and the construction workers made comments at her.I thought she bought it up again but I could've been dreaming that.
People trash talk Leah at tv tome about her weight how she's not hot or a joy too look at. Seems to me the low lives only watched for looks and once she changed she's disgusting that really patheic not mention a trashy thing to say about her.
Because it comes from trash those comments. Somebody actually said him and his wife are looking into adoption itstead of her having them because he knows she'll get heavy and not loose the weight fast or look the same as she did before she was Pregnant. What trash some of these people are...Mel

I agree with you. People could be so ignorant to the subject of pregnancy..especially guys. They assume once the baby comes out, the woman deflates like a balloon.
In my opinion, if you're really a true fan of the show, you'll put aside the fact that Leah isn't the same size as the first few seasons and take in to mind what the show's really tryin' to convey.
seven_to_shea 03-14-2005, 08:10 AM I am actually a lot more distracted lately by trying to decide whether or not KJ is wearing a hairpiece than Leah's weight. lol.
QueenofQueens 03-14-2005, 10:11 AM He's either wearing a very good hairpiece, or he's been using Rogaine. His hair is a lot thicker than it was.
