I used to like it back when I was young. But afterwards, they just did it too much. Some of the dialogue wasn't even funny. It seems as if the writers wanted an argument between the two every episode. Rarely did I ever laugh at it. The funniest was when JJ passed to the next grade, then gave Thelma the apron because she'd lost the bet.

No Nerrad. They had a very lame interaction. Every time one insulted the other, someone had a weak comeback. I always was like, c'mon, somebody say something funny!

You hit the nail on the head. Interaction. That was the word. You just got kind of tired of it all. Whenever JJ would mention his body or looks, everyone knew the camera was going to Thelma.

There was one funny interaction between Thelma and J.J in the episode-"florida goes to school" When James had told Thelma her mother's school days were over because you can teach a old dog new tricks. Thelma then offered to help Florida with her homework and J.J said-"how come you never made me that offer"?

Thelma: Because you can't teach a dumb dog nothing"-LOL LOL

I agree the bickering between JJ and Thelma was on the weak side. I did not find it funny when someone who was uglier than a dog's butt had the audacity to say that his sister (whom was very beautiful) that she was the homely one. HELLO! I wanted to slap JJ in the face and tell him to take a closer look in the mirror

Looks like they were trying to find the next Fred vs. Esther battles. If they would have made James go at it with Willona more often, I think they would have been classics.

I didn't really like J.J. calling fine ass Thelma ugly all the time with his monkey lookin' self.

Actually I think my favorite bickering (if you can call it that) is the interaction between Bookman and Willona  She is the only person that can shut his Fat Ass up

Letting Bookman have it was funny.

I think I made how I felt about JJ or Jimmie Walker on this board; he is just NASTY UGLY...Yuck...I swear everytime I see him without his shirt on..I have to get on my hands and knees to pray that I do not turn gay.

It did get to be too much after awhile...especially in the later seasons.

Their bickering was the best part of the show, it showed that not everyone in a family gets along as in The Brady Bunch.
