Last night at a movie premier in Hollywood, I spoke at length with a cast member who shall remain nameless. When I asked him about NBC picking AD up for next season, he looked at me a sadly stated, "We got cancelled".

NBC should hold their heads in shame for this travesty. They provided "zero" on-air promo or "tune in" spots for AD, and at LEAST could wait and see how the show would perform in it's new wednesday time slot, before dropping the axe, on one of the best shows to ever grace the TV screen.

If you are equally as disheartened by this situation, please voice your concern to the following:

Kevin Reilly
President, NBC Entertainment
3000 West Alameda Ave.
Burbank, CA. 91523

...It's a rainy day in mudville. The next 4 episodes will always have the true AD fans bittersweetly thinking "What if...."

Maybe I'll join another message board in 40 years when another good tv show comes around. C'ya then.

This isn't an April Fools joke either. I'm not going to say which cast member it was that told me this, but they were extremely disappointed.

My wife and I told them that we LOVE the show and watched it religiously and they said that NBC had definitley pulled the plug on one of the best shows to ever hit television.

They at LEAST needed to try it out in the new time slot. This is a travesty and letters definitely need to be written to NBC.

TheAmericanDreamer

As a entertainment professional, I share the love of this show with all who visit this site. I have would have nothing to gain by lying to you, and I am equally disheartened by this recent revelation.

In response to those who've questioned the fact that I am a "new" member to this site, well that fact is true. I've never had anything substantial to share and therefore have not participated in any previous postings. Prior to joining this site I would visit to check for "spoilers" or any new information pertaining to the storyline development of AD.

And finally, the reason that I will not disclose the source of my information because as I stated earlier, I am a "Professional", and to do so would be the antithesis of who I am.

Now, if you'd like to conduct your own investigative work to possibly deduce who my direct source is, I WILL provide you with the following clue....The movie premier that I attended and spoke at length with an AD cast member regarding the shows cancellation, will open in theaters this coming friday so be sure to log that in your "Diary".

AD's ratings, currently, are on par with the Saturday reruns of Law & Order series and with cancelled shows like Clubhouse and LAX. In fact, currently there's only a 300,000 viewer difference between it and Hawaii, which wasn't around two months

What we can't figure out:
If what the poster said was true, or not.

It's hard to imagine someone could get their "jollies" by just posting rubbish. But anything is possible, especially on the internet.

Supposedly we got a "clue" from the poster:
"I went to a premiere of a movie opening up on the following Friday (which was the most recent Friday".

Now, how is THAT a clue, unless that movie had someone in it or someone had something to do with it that ALSO has something to do with AD?

The obvious assumption is that the "actor/actress" the poster talked to is IN the movie just released.........or has SOMETHING to do with a just released movie.

Brittany Snow has one coming out.........but not until March 4 or so.

Anyone got any clue of any AD cast member that has something to do with a movie just released this past Friday?

Peace.

If you really want to get into deciphering the 'clues', (which I hate by the way, Blind Riddles, etc... it's so elementary school... "I know something you don't know! Nah nah nah nah nah nah." But I digress...)

He posted on Feb. 23rd and said that he went to the movie premiere the night before... so that would be Feb. 22nd. Then he said later "log that in your Diary."

The movie "Diary of a Mad Black Woman" had their premiere in Hollywood on Feb 22nd, but there are no pictures I can find of any AD cast member attending.

But think of the odds of an actor/actress having some connection with AD......AND being in a movie with the word DIARY in it........AND having it have a premiere the night the "poster" posted his/her story about the show being canelled.

I don't know about you guys, but it seems to me this is where the poster got his/her news.

I did some reseach at IMDB.com and found he has been in 11 out of the last 12 episodes ending in late January. I don't know if he will be on in March.

Is there a way we can get in touch with Milo and find out?

I am a HUGE Milo Ventimiglia fan! He rocked our world as Jess Mariano on Gilmore Girls!! And, he was great as Chris too! So it very well could be him! I feel so stupid for not thinking of it. But I do think 'Chris' is pretty much done with the show.

As for getting in touch with him...good luck, he's pretty big, well amongst the WB audience he is. (He's signed for a new WB show.)

AD Fan Club hit the nail on the head. An AD castmember did attend the Premier for "Diary of a Mad Black Woman" and that is who provided the info. This person shall still remain namless though.

And "Storywriter", If you've ever attended a movie premier in your life, you'd know that the Hollywood Stars frequently mix and mingle with the other industry attendees. Most of the talent that you would want to speak with are relatively easy to access.

And finally, I NEVER once stated in any previous postings that an AD castmember was starring in the film for the premier in which I was at attendance.

Even though this info. was shared with me, I'm with the rest of you and sincerely hope that NBC has a change of heart.

"They" said they filmed episode #17 to be the "end" of the season, just in case they didn't go to #19. As we all know, the last 2 episodes were cut off this year, so 17 will be the last one.

Would they make it a cliffhanger......ie, one that makes you wait until next year (if there is one) to see what happens?
Who knows.....they probably made it like any other last episode of any other year. If there is any consistency in the previous years' last episodes, you will probably find it in this one.

We only will know come March 30.

I'm trying to follow the logic with everyone trying to figure out if we are cancelled or not.
I don't get it.

Supposedly the producers know if cancellation has happened BEFORE they make all of their shows.......and film the LAST one in an appropriate manner?

What about an earlier post in this forum about the actors sometimes showing up to work, only to find out the show has been cancelled?
That totally argues against "them" knowing anything, based upon filming, about cancellation.

And what about an earlier poster here saying we don't know until May, when NBC announces its fall lineup, if we are renewed or not?

It does appear, from Jonathan Prince's interview, that he filmed an episode that supposedly he does not want to air, signifying the end of the show.
Would NBC spend the TIME and MONEY filming a show-ending episode and not show it?
Do they have that kind of money to throw around?
If so, why not spend THAT money on advertising the show instead?
Maybe it's not enough money to use for advertising......I don't know the costs of advertising.

I don't know the "industry" that well.......and perhaps this is a question better answered by "tvobscurities" (but I haven't heard from him/her in quite awhile)....but is it an accepted practice to spend the time and money filming show-ending episodes and then not air them if the show is renewed?

Or was this a "message" from Jonathan Prince that the show is cancelled?

Seems like kind of a waste to me.......but they deal with a lot more money than I do......so maybe it's okay to them.
Just my two cents.......and not their millions of dollars.

In my opinion I'm not going to be 100% sure that the show is going for a fourth season until I see it aired. With TV I think you never really know what they plan to do, and if something better comes along they'll bump a quality program for "reality tv crap" or anything else they think might generate bigger and better ratings. Hopefully AD will show up on next years line up, but I won't fully believe it until I see it. I read on E that all of the networks are scrambling to generate better ratings to keep up with ABC this year and in the process of doing that much of their strategy is out with the old in with the new. Hopefully that doesn't enclude our favorites!

59. 3-16 315 23 Mar 05 Escape to LA (http://www.tvtome.com/AmericanDreams/season3.html#ep59)

No episode on the 16th and the 17th is the last one.

I thought there was supposed to be four episodes left?

Your right...

58.3-14 09-Mar-2005 The Commencement (http://www.tvtome.com/tvtome/servlet/GuidePageServlet/showid-10784/epid-397979/)

58.3-15 16-Mar-2005 California Dreamin' (http://www.tvtome.com/tvtome/servlet/GuidePageServlet/showid-10784/epid-385216/)

59.3-16 23-Mar-2005 Escape to LA (http://www.tvtome.com/tvtome/servlet/GuidePageServlet/showid-10784/epid-386445/)

But that means only one episode left after March 23rd and the TV season doesn't end til May. This show is defintely in it's last season.

Yes that does seem early, but If I am not mistaken seasons one and two also ended very early in the season. I want to say March or April. So hopefully an end of March season finale won't be a big deal.

Season 1 ended on May 18 and season 2 ended on April 4. I checked on TV tome, so it wouldn't be completely odd if it ended early april. It seems like they always shorten a series after the first year anyway.

You're not alone......I think most of us think/fear something is up.
Just doesn't have the feel of things going good......you know?

I guess we just have to hope for the best.

Peace.

Only when they have low ratings... if they pull in good ratings, they try to show as many episodes as they can.

Well, that is terrible news considering they've already shorten the season.

Let's hope that they keep our beloved show!!!!

I know they probably won't read this,

but:

PLEASE NBC, SAVE OUR SHOW!!!!

We all are well aware that our show's ratings have been below par for what NBC wants.
Evidence is the move to Wed. nights and that repeats of Law and Order (in our old Sunday spot) are beating even our best ratings of this year.

Our only hope seems to be if NBC doesn't need that high of ratings for Wed.
We will find out.

Peace.
