I tuned into the marathon on accident last nite. I was channel surfing and it was in the middle of the first episode that was shown. I kept it on and watched the entire nite of episodes, and wanting more when it was over. I can't wait for the rest of the marathon this week! Did anyone else see FT for the first time last nite and fall in love with it?

Boy, some of you must be pretty young, to never have seen Family Ties before. I was born in 1981, and Family Ties has been all over the place as long as I can remember, if not airing on NBC in it's original run from 1982-1989, then it was airing in syndication on local channels from 1986-Present. Also, airing on TBS until last week and being sold on video from Columbia House. I find it amazing that there are people that have never seen this show. It has not disappeared from television screens since 1982.

I know it's been around for a while, I just never watched it. I was born in 1983, and I vaguely remembering watching some of it when I was younger (but I don't count that as actually watching it before).

Three words:
80's sitcoms ROCK!!! I don't know why but compared with the recent crap they play now, 80's t.v. shows are so orignal and doesn't have just people acting silly and stuff like in Friends. I like Alex's preppie clothes.

Family Ties is right up there with Brady Bunch when it comes to family bonding and Its Funnier! BTW I love the older intro with the hippie look http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Family Ties Brady Grid: A righteous combination.

Michael J. Fox is especially funny as Alex but the rest of the cast had their funny moments, even Skippy! Their chemistry was terrific at the time and it shows in acting.

Yup, I remember watching FT when I was young, too. I knew all the characters and everything, but now I'm rediscovering it all over again! I love FT! I agree with the person who said if I can't have FOL, then I'll watch FT! MJF is hilarious! I love him! (No wonder NMK liked him...hehehe)

Wow, you're only 18 then. I also see that you're from Sounthern Cal like me. I can understand why you haven't seen it since then--we haven't had it here for a long, long time. And the shows that TBS or whoever was airing before were at odd hours in the morning. Finally, we have it again at prime time. It'a a great show and I can't wait to see some of my favorite episodes--like the one where Alex has insomnia. And of course, the Tom Hanks episode where they really get dramatic. One of the best in my opinion. Thank god this series is back.

80's sitcoms are the best! They do have crap on now a days like Will & Grace (I do like the show Karen & Jack are the only part I like) I can't stand all that Gay stuff. Pluse there were more family shows on in the 80's now it all single people (I do like Friends) or gays and stuff like that.
