If you are familiar with SNL, there's a new sketch called "Debbie Downer" played wonderfully and hillariously by Rachel Dratch. This character talks about disease, depression, and death at fun social gatherings that rains on people's parade. On Saturday's episode Hilary Swank and her husband at the Oscars acted like Debbie was Swank's former babysitter. And while the Oscars is a happy gathering place, Debbie made it into very depressing as Swank and her husband(or an actor playing Chad Lowe)got up after hearing about her put-downs and had to get a drink. It is so, so funny. I, in a sense, remind myself of the character but unlike Debbie, I don't rain on people's parade.

i agree its a funny sketch .i dnot understand why so many people at other snl sites hate it so much. but then again there hasant been a time where i havent gone over there that some snl fan isnt moaning about how the show isnt as good as when so and so was on it i wish we had our own snl board here at so where people can talk about the show and post interesting therads like this one and others that ive seen on here without all the bashing that you see at other stes .but im kind of off topic .so to get back to the topic at hand i think we all know a wet blanket like debbie downer or have at least met someone like her and thats one reason we find it funny. and rachael dratch is perfect in the role.

That drives me crazy. Of course, it's just their opinions...but there's no way the show is always going to stay EXACTLY the same.

Rachael Dratch is my favorite current castmember, all though I haven't seen the sketch I'm sure it was halarious!

Off topic- If they gave SNL a board here they would have to give Madtv one or us Madtv fans would raise hell! lol just kiddin!
