Franklin fighting against himself was so stupid. Damon just should be ashamed of himself at this point. This show has for sure jumped and not in a good way. *GoodMorningCalgary* 02-25-2005, 12:53 PM I don't watch the new episodes anymore.....they are just waaaaaaaaaayy too silly and stupid. but I still love Seasons 1-3 marvin g 02-26-2005, 08:38 PM Vanessa got married???!!!! I stopped watching the show myself for the same reason waaaaay too silly!!! It's like watching live action cartoons! Mr. Television 02-26-2005, 08:44 PM I've watched very few episodes this season. I agree its getting to silly and unrealistic. Yeldarb 02-26-2005, 09:57 PM I agree with everyone in this group. I've been watching every episode this season, just to see if the show will turn back in the right direction. Unfortunately, with the exception of the recent Bahamas episodes, Season 5 is becoming very painful to watch. Only one other episode is worth a second watch. The thing that's been bugging me the most about My Wife and Kids surprisingly isn't the addition of Michael III (they call the baby "Junior Jr."), or the fact that Jr. and Vanessa got married. I've been having problems with that little twerp Franklin. He's been in EVERY episode this season, most of which are lame-ass sub-plots. The synopsis for the upcoming March episodes don't sound promising at all. All of this makes me suspect that they're pushing for Franklin to steal the show, as Steve Urkiel did in Family Matters. I'm willing to hold out for the rest of the season, although I feel that I'm making a big mistake. Either way, like the rest of you guys, I'm getting really close to dropping out on My Wife and Kids as well. I won't be upset if the show gets canned, and when the show reaches syndication later this year, I'm only watching Seasons 1 - 2, and the early portion of Season 3. Mr. Monitor 02-26-2005, 10:14 PM I wonder why they've just completely given up? I guess the people behind the show realize that MWAK will never match The Cosby Show so I guess they've given up. I still watch only to support a fellow black comedy series but trust me it's not easy. The fact that Damon and co. are going against American Idol is another negative. TVFactFan 02-27-2005, 01:35 AM If the show had a different father and son I would watch. But the father gives off a bi-sexual vibe and the son is a fat out ******-LOL iluvjackandkaren 02-27-2005, 04:56 AM ita with everyone. it's really sad that the show has gone down the toilet. it's straight buffoonery. do the girls even get any airtime? i just hope they make it to syndication so i can catch the season with vivica fox and the samba dancing. i think someone stole my tape from that season. iluvjackandkaren 02-27-2005, 04:57 AM oh and damon needs to fire his sons and only let kim work on the show. his sons aren't ready for the big time yet, they are still in training mode. Yeldarb 02-27-2005, 01:35 PM oh and damon needs to fire his sons and only let kim work on the show. his sons aren't ready for the big time yet, they are still in training mode. Definitely. A lot of their material is really annoying (they're probably responsible for the new bitchy Jay we've seen since Season 3), and it hurts even more to hear the studio audience laugh at stuff that's obviously NOT funny. *GoodMorningCalgary* 02-27-2005, 06:57 PM and it hurts even more to hear the studio audience laugh at stuff that's obviously NOT funny. My wife and kids hasn't been filmed in front of a live studio audience for over 2 years now. hatwink 02-28-2005, 02:33 AM If the show had a different father and son I would watch. But the father gives off a bi-sexual vibe and the son is a fat out ******-LOL Woww! That's a new one! EdBrownJr 04-01-2005, 02:52 PM i used to watch this show every single week it was one of my favs....now i dont really watch that much because of class on tuesday nights... the show is hilarious.......mostly my problem is with Franklin.....too much of him.....they should cut back on his screen time and only put in some episodes........and why in the world does he end up in the middle of everything..... jamesanthony 04-12-2005, 10:06 PM If the show had a different father and son I would watch. But the father gives off a bi-sexual vibe and the son is a fat out ******-LOL I noticed this a long time ago. Damon acts feminine in this show for some reason (I don't know why) and Jr is the dumbest black male son I have ever seen on a tv show. He makes Eddie Winslow look brilliant. I used to watch this show in its first season out of curiousity/novelty and knowing the actors from other things. It was of a different flavor in year 1. I stopped watching after that and to see the show in passing since it is almost unwatchable. The only plus is that they are not living in a ghetto and reinforcing that old black stereotype, but otherwise this show perpetuates a lot of other very bad stereotypes and is just the black variant of all the other pretty dumb and unoriginal ABC sitcoms on now. marvin g 04-20-2005, 10:13 AM Eddie Winslow was dumb for maybe one season, then they brought in Waldo! UUUUUGGGHHH! |
