I was recently watching an episode of The Nanny,and Fran Drescher's real parents were stars on the show,as Fran's
relatives,which brings me to ask,can you think of any other show where an actor's real siblings starred in it?

Ray Romano has used his father and brother in various episodes of Everyone loves Raymond.

I believe on the Brady Bunch, Florence Henderson's daughter appeared in some episodes. Also, on Sanford and Son, Redd Foxx's daughter appeared in some of those episodes.

In one episode of Wings, Tim Daly's real wife was on playing someone else's wife. :lol:

While the subject matter calls for actors, my two examples are about actresses.

On The Wonder Years Danica McKellar's real life sister, Crystal, had a recurring role as Becky Slater during the junior high years. Also, Fred Savage's brother Ben guest-starred in one episode (#37, "St. Valentine's Day Massacre"), coincidentally one that had Becky. :eek:

On Laverne and Shirley Penny Marshall's (and Garry Marshall's, for that matter!) real life sister Ronny guest-starred as Maxine, a potential new roommate of Laverne's, shortly after Shirley departed in the final season in the episode entitled "The Note."

What is amazing is that neither Winnie nor Laverne had any sisters on their respective shows.

Stanley Livingston (Chip) and Barry Livingston (Ernie) from My Three Sons were brothers in real-life. On the show, Ernie was adopted by Chip's Dad, Steve.

Not a sibling, but interesting:
Queen Latifah's real mom played her mom on Living Single. Kim Fields' real mom played her mom on the show too.

Fred Savage was in his brother Ben's tv show 'Boy Meets World'.

Meeno Peluce (the boy from The Voyagers) was in Punky Brewster, and he was Soleil Moon Frye's half brother.

Oh, and the real-life younger brother of Kami Cotler on The Waltons (she played Elizabeth, the youngest of the family), Jeff Cotler, guest-starred as Pip Wrayburn, an orphaned English boy in the episode entitled "The Christmas Carol," which came out right before Christmas :tree: 1977.

Alan Alda's father guested on two episodes of M*A*S*H, and his brother was in one of those episodes as well.

Not really an episode per se, but John Ritter's son, Jason(who was three or four at the time) appeared in the theme song in the early 80's. You can see him walking up in his overalls in the beginning shot at the zoo.

Clint Howard guest starred as "Moose" on Happy Days, Scott Baio's brother appeared in a couple of episodes as one of the student's in Joanie's class and Garry Marshall's kids appeared in a couple of episodes. Not that any of those were regulars though...

George Wendt's real life wife appeared in a couple of episodes of Cheers.

Matthew Perry's real dad appeared on Friends, and so did Jennifer Aniston's husband, some guy named Brad Pitt.

I'm pretty sure Jason Alexander's mother had a cameo on Seinfeld.

Danny Devito's mother was on Taxi and Rhea Perlman's father Phil was on Cheers.

Rhea Perlman's dad! That's the one I was trying to think of, but I couldn't remember it.

Clint Howard played "little Leon" in several episodes of The Andy Griffith Show. He is, of course, Ron "Opie" Howard's brother. :)


Chris Elliot's Dad played Chris's Dad on Get A Life.

Danny DeVitos mother played Louies mother a couple times on "Taxi".
Jack Klugmans wife, Brett Somers played Oscars ex-wife Blanche, on "The Odd Couple" sometimes.

On Roseanne, Michael Fishman's (DJ) real llife ittle brother played Jerry Garcia Junior in the episode parody of Leave it to Beaver.

"Uh oh! DJ's in trouble!"

Alan Alda's father, Robert Alda, was in a couple episodes of Mash. And, Alans brother was in one episode with them.

Jim Backus's wife Henny played the chief native's wife in the ep:Gilligan's Mother in Law.Bob Denver's son Patrick played the part of the small Gilligan in the dream sequence in th ep:V For Vitamine.

In the Little House on The Prairie,Matthew Laborteau(Albert) and Patrick Laborteau(Andrew Garvey) are brothers on real life.

In the Partridge Family.Shirley Jones was David Cassidy's real life stepmother.

a couple times on "The Odd Couple" Tony Ran dals son played Felix as a boy in flashbacks, and a couple times Jack Klugmans son played Oscar as a boy.


on a short-lived sitcom called "Ink" Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen played a man and wife, which they are in real life.

On "The Dick Van Dyke Show," Dick's real-life brother Jerry played his character's brother, Stacy.

Also, on "Wings," Amy Yasbeck's husband, John Ritter, guest starred as Casey's ex-husband, Stewart.

On Full House DJ's cousin Steve came for a visit in the first season. He was played by Candace's real life brother Kirk.
Also, Candace guest starred in a few episodes of Kirk's show Growing Pains.
On Everybody Loves Raymond the children who play Allie, Geoffrey, and Michael are siblings in real life; Madalyn, Sawyer, and Sullivan Sweeten.
On The Cosby Show Phylicia Rashad's sister Debbie Allen played her aerobics instructor in an episode.
Also, Phylicia guest starred on Debbie's show In The House.
That's all I can think of right now.

on "The Andy Griffith show" Ron Howards brother, Clint appeared a few times.
Dick Van Dykes brother Jerry, played his brother Stacy in 3 or 4 episodes.

Likewise, Dick made a cameo appearence once on "Coach" as an unnamed relative of Jerrys character, Luther.
And, Dicks son and Daughter appeared in an episode of "The Dick Van Dyke show" once.

Fred Savage was in his brother Ben's tv show 'Boy Meets World'.

And Ben Savage appeared in an episode of the "Wonder Years"

This isn't really a guest spot or anything, but the three Lawrence brothers (Matt, Joey, and Andy) all played brothers on a show called "Brothery Love".

The characters Det. Vic Mackey and his daughter Cassidy are in real life father and daughter - Michael and Autumn Chiklis.

Treky, I don't recall Tony Randalls son. He didn't have any children till he was in his 70's. Getting back to tv shows with relatives. How about Dianosis Murder with Dick and Barry Van Dyke.

Jack Klugmans son played Oscar as a teenager once in a flashback scene on "The Odd Couple".

on "I Dream of Jeannie" Barbara Edens husband, Micheal Ansara (who impregnated her-lucky bastard!!!! :dance: ), appeared on the show a few times. Once, in a black-and-white episode, he played the guy who turned her into a jeannie, put her in a bottle, and threw it in the ocean, in ancient Bagdad or whereever she was from.
Another time, in their first color episode, he played an evil genie, named "The Blue Jin" who wanted to marry her.
And another time, in one of their Hawaii episodes, he played an acient Hawaien king, who she brought to life.
Another time, he played a new astronaught at NASA.

Tahj Mowry acted with his sisters Tia And Tamera on Sister Sister in a few episodes. The sisters appeared on his show Smart Guy.

Kim Wayans was on a few episodes of The Wayans Bros with her brothers.

On King Of Queens:

Kevin James' real life brother Gary Valentine plays his cousin.

Jerry Stiller's real life wife Anne Meara had a recurring role as Spence's mom.
Jerry's daughter Amy played various roles through out the series.
Jerry's son Ben played Jerry's dad in a flashback.

On Gilligan's Island Bob Denver's real life son Patrick played the small version of Gilligan when seen running around Alan Hale Jr's giant character.

on THE KING OF QUEENS Jerry Stillers son Ben played Arthurs father once or twice and I think once he played a young Arthur.

I can remember the Full House episode with Kirk Cameron, he played a cousin to D.J., Stephanie, and Michele. But I don't remember if he was supposed to be a relative on Danny's side or his late wife Pam's side. Anybody remember? And I don't remember Candace Cameron being on Growing Pains. What episodes was that?

On the sitcom iCarly, in the later seasons. Series regular Gibby got a little brother named Guppy (guest starred on a few episodes). Gibby was played by Noah Munck and Guppy was played by his real life youngest brother Ethan Munck. Noah Munck is the oldest of 5 with one younger sister and 3 younger brothers.

And one more although it's not a sitcom. On Little House On The Prairie in the later seasons after the Ingalls' adopt Albert. Albert was played by Matthew Labyorteaux. After he became a regular his younger brother Patrick Labyorteaux can also be seen in some series episodes. Patrick would later change his last name to Laborteaux (dropped the "Y" from the last name) and as an adult was a regular on the drama series JAG for it's entire run.

on THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW Ron Howards brother Clint appeared every once in a while as a kid named Leon.

Once on TWO AND A HALF MEN Charlie Sheens father Martin played Roses father once.
a couple times on THE ODD COUPLE Jack Klugnans son Adam played a young Oscar in flashbacks.

Once on STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION Patrick Stewarts son & daughter played his son and daughter.

Oh yes, The Next Generation episode The Inner Light. One of my favorites. Patrick Stewart does an amazing performance in that one.
