Okay, one thing that has always rubbed me the wrong way is how people misspell Thomas Haden Church's middle name.
I've seen Thomas Hayden Church, Thomas Hadyn Church, Thomas Hadden Church, ect.
Why is HADEN so hard to spell? Really, tell me why.

it's a middle name, it doesn't matter.

Maybe not to you.

Well, for one, it's not that common of a name. And also when I think of the name, I always think of it with the "Y". I don't think people go out of their way to misspell it just to annoy you.

I didn't say that they did it to annoy ME, I'm just saying that I'm surprised of the rate of the people that spell it HAYDEN online (including Google searches and on Ebay)
I just said that I see his name misspelled all too often, including some professional sites and in articles where the people writing the stuff have access to the proper information.
It's rather funny, Thomas' name is one of the very few "celebrity" names that I see with improper spelling.

Well, yeah, sites and articles is a different story. If someone was writing an article about him, you would think that they'd take the time to make sure they have his name spelled correctly.

I'm suprised that his name isn't Hayden on the IMDB. For Bob's sake, they (and the All Movie Guide) think he was in the movie Gypsy Angels. There's solid proof from the alt.tv.wings newsletter archive from around 1994 that says THC's first work was, in fact, Stolen Moments, an independent film from 1988.

There are plenty of instances where words are misspelled and/or misused on message boards. It drives me NUTS, but I'd get in trouble if I took everyone to task for their grammatical and spelling errors.

That's one of my pet peeves too. I know nobody is perfect. I know that person might possibly have a learning disability or something. (I work with kids who have different learning disabilities.) But certain careless mistakes, like using "your" instead of "you're" and confusing words like their/there/they're and not bothering with proper capitalization, spelling, and punctuation really drives me crazy. You'd think people would learn to proofread what they write and be careful of careless mistakes.

Probably because the name "Haden" is normally spelled "Hayden" :)
