View Full Version : Spin-off of Frasier!
I think its time that Frasier had spin-off of its own. I mean they have so many good characters to use. Theres Roz, Bulldog, Kate Kostas, Bonnie, Poppy, that butler that Frasier had for an episode, Dr. Nora or any other character. Any ideas?
PowderFinger 09-23-2001, 10:12 PM They were lucky enough to have success building a show around Frasier Crane, I think to try to lift a character out of Frasier would be foolish. Odds are it wouldn't work, and frankly, with the exception of Niles, I don't think there's a character on the show worthy of a half hour per week. Even Niles would grow tiresome as the focal point of every episode of his own show.

I adore Niles, but even I'd have to agree there.

dugferd 09-25-2001, 11:17 AM How about Frasier's agent, Bebe?
TV Guy 09-26-2001, 10:44 PM I love Bebe, but I think her character is a little over-the-top to be the lead of her own show. Where's she been lately, anyway?
I'm a BIG Niles fan, maybe if they could get Daphne to do it with him? But the spin-off of a spin-off does seem like a little to much.

Not a chance...it wouldn't last, sadly. And I hate to say it, as big a Niles fan as I am as well. I like the way they're going with it now. It works better with the great characters constantly there, but not ALWAYS in the spotlight...thats where they start to go bad.
OH, and as to Bebe...I personally find her annoying. I wouldn't watch a show all about her and her clients. I'd watch once, get possibly physically ill over her personality yet again and change the channel. I don't like the episodes much with her in them.
*shrugs* That's just me though.

Jimbo 11-04-2001, 10:31 PM If there is a spin-off, I hope they're smart enough to take the same approach that was used when "Fraiser" was spun off from "Cheers". They took Doctor Fraiser Crane, and completely removed him from the "Cheers" environment - i.e., moved him to Seattle, changed the direction of his career, and did not bring along any other people from the cast of Cheers. While they do occasionally have characters from Cheers as guest stars, the writers were wise enough to wait until the show had become an established hit on its own merit before they began bringing in the Cheers alumni. I think the character that has the best potential to carry a show would be "Roz Doyle" (Peri Gilpin). Should a show be developed around her, Roz should move out of Seattle, and possibly into another line of work. I don't think I would marry her off - having her remain single opens up more possible story lines.
dugferd 11-07-2001, 01:53 PM I agree that if they use a major character, they should remove him from the familiarity of the Frasier settings.
That's also why I suggested a passing character (such as Bebe) for a spin-off.
And BTW, Bebe is hysterical. I'd watch a spinoff with her.
Central Perk 01-11-2002, 10:57 PM I'd kind of like to see what the group from the bar is up to maybe make a spin off of them.
