Workplace comedies are my favorite type of sitcoms. I still like family comedies and "friend" comedies (Seinfeld, Frasier, Three's Company, Friends).... but workplace is the best. Scrubs is one of only three workplace comedies. Less Than Perfect on ABC and that new Cuts on UPN are the only other workplace comedies on air. In the 70s, 80s and especially the 90s.... workplace comedies were everywhere. dawsongirl 02-24-2005, 09:19 PM the thread is "name a favorite sitcom that WAS set in the workplace" not "IS set in the workplace". One of the most unappreciated sitcoms of all time.I agree. Back then The Job starring Denis Leary was the only current TV series I was watching until some Walt Disney executroid was parachuted into the ABC network and had the bright idea to pull the plug on this 'politically incorrect' sitcom - grrr. That said, its interesting storylines would often switch from Leary's character's personal to professional life and for that reason I personally don't see it as a sitcom truly set in the work place. treky 03-01-2005, 03:17 AM oh, so THAT'S what happened to that show! I've always wondered, because I heard it was set to come back in the fall of 2001, but then, ABC pushed it back to midseason after 9/11. Next thing, I heard it had been canncelled. For those who are interested, the series is coming out on DVD in May. Ohio8 03-02-2005, 10:32 PM Here's what I like: "The Mary Tyler Moore Show." "Barney Miller." "Taxi." "Cheers." "Night Court."
