~*Emma*~ 02-18-2005, 05:46 AM What do you think is the most memorable moment, quote and episode of Family Ties.? I'll go first:
Moment: Alex and Ellen kissing at the bus/train station
Quote: Steven: "Parents are conditioned to accept a few mishaps. A broken vase, some spilled milk on the floor... There was a kangaroo in my living room."
Alex: "It was just here for the party."
Steven:"Then I guess I'm just overreacting."
Episode:"The Fugitive" (the one with Tom Hanks) Pt1&2

~*Emma*~ 03-01-2005, 06:38 AM BUMP :D :p
westender719 04-18-2005, 01:49 AM Moment: Alex walking back into house to hug family members before leaving for New York.
Quote: "When you ran for student body president, I voted for you. 500 times. (pause) I'm sorry you didn't win."
Episdode: The high school quiz show episode in the first season.
~*Emma*~ 04-19-2005, 02:07 AM Moment: When Mallory is jealous that Skippy isn't paying attention to her in the episode, Don't Kiss Me I'm Only The Messanger, and the moment when Mallory grabs Skippy and kisses him. It's hilarous. :)
Quote: Skippy, didn't you hear me? I just said hi to you.
Episode: Don't Kiss Me I'm Only The Messanger
Hey Jen you really love Mallory and Skippy huh? :p Did you read the "My Best Friend's gril" transcript?
Family Ties Forever! 04-20-2005, 03:01 AM Hey Jen you really love Mallory and Skippy huh? :p Did you read the "My Best Friend's gril" transcript?
I really like them. I'm so lame I know. :D I did read the transcript thanks. One of my favorite parts of that episode is the simulated driving test that Steven gives Jennifer in the kitchen, that scene always cracks me up. Of course the other parts of the episode I really like are the Mal/Skip moments.

Oh what did you think of it? It was really hard transcribing that scene because there was so much physical humour. I need someone's honest opinion. :D

I think you did really well transcribing it. I"m not sure I could have done that well. :)

Yeah, you did a great job. I remember that ep - them sitting in the chairs as if they were in a car and making everyone do up their "seatbelts" and then Jen taking a hard corner!!!
I think my favourites were when Alex and Ellen were breaking up and that song playing.....gets me every time!!
Also, when Skippy and Mallory are locked in the basement and put the chipmunk costumes on to keep warm. I laugh out loud every time that airs!
How 'bout when Alex is dancing in the ballet class? THE funniest moment of the series IMO!

That's one of my favorite episodes, Cold Storage. It's a funny episode.

LOL! I love that ep! One of the best things about Family Ties is all the physical humour.
One of the funniest quotes -
Steven to Alex: "You lost Jennifer in a card game?"
I just watched that ep last night on tape, so that one's fresh in my mind.
JourneyMan 05-06-2005, 03:37 PM I love FT so much that no episodes stand out. They are all great. I remember the one when Alex's friend died, and he was talking to him in a dream. Very intense.
My favorite moments are probably when Alex and Steven got off good lines. They both had the best expressions. I like any joke that recalls Alex as a baby with his Nixon rattle and other right wing actions.
Moment: Alex and Elyse going at each other in his Birthday episode
Quote: "Separation, Sushi, and (something???), That's the 1980's for you" Mallory in one episode
Episode: The Paper Chase (Mallory's Graduation)
Family Ties Forever! 05-12-2005, 02:11 AM and designer jeans that's the third thing she said.
Classicshowsgurl15 05-12-2005, 11:19 PM I like Family Ties, but I haven't seen enough of them to answer this post. I like the one though where Andy is born. I wish it would come back on N@N so bad.:( I am going to tape the one that they are going to have on the N@Niversery or whatever it's called. I don't have any on tape. I want to get some individual episodes off ebay though.
Mikado 07-20-2005, 06:54 AM Memorable moment: Alex falls in love with Ellen
Quote: Steven: ...there was a kangaroo in my living room!!!...UHHHHH
Fave ep: Mallory joins Alex on a high school quiz show, and not only does very well, but shows Alex up too!
Classicshowsgurl15 07-20-2005, 03:59 PM I guess for Moment I would have to say when Mallory kisses Skippy in Don't Kiss Me, I'm Only the Messanger
Quote: (from High School confidential where Alex helps Nick get his diploma)Mallory: What are you doing down here Alex?
Alex: What am I do well I'm not doing anything so I guess I'll need one of those special verbs(pause) like you use for dead people.
Episode: The Quiz show one where Alex gets stage fright.
mrtedesco 10-05-2005, 08:10 PM My sister and I to this very day use this quote on a regular basis around lunch time , "I had chicken for lunch", and we say it with the same sarcastic tone as Ruben Tedesco.
Remember that episode, he is so rude and obnoxious to the parents, Elyse punches him, then Steven goes to apologize, and he punches him. Then them invite him to dinner and all they have to serve is chicken.
The Ellen Alex bus station episode is good too, that's the episode where he gave her a painting of "Picardo" instead of Picasso and travelled 400 miles to bring Ellen her copy of newsweek, is that love or what?

Brad Russ 02-10-2006, 05:47 AM Memorable moment? Wow, there are certainly many moments to choose from, but my choice would have to be the scene in the shows final episode, where Elyse and Alex are having it out in his room, over the inconsiderate, and cavalier way in which he's approaching his departure to New York, and how he's not considering how hard it is for her to see him go. Pheeew, I'm telling you, that entire 10 minute scene, never fails to wipe me out emotionally. :(
Favorite Quote? "Steven, where are the Fish balls??"
That quote by Elyse, always cracks me up. Iv'e always wondered if that scene was some kind of inside joke, between the shows cast or crew?? I always got that impression when seeing it.
Favorite Episode? My Name Is Alex

I don't remember many scenes from FT, but the driving lesson always stands out...

caladon 10-13-2007, 11:32 AM The episode where Mallory is writing an advice column.
Mallory: (After Elyse has commented on her ability to help people with their problems) It's a gift, Mom. It's like there's this little voice in my head saying..
Alex: (Interrupting) Boy, you can see for miles in here.
That line and the looks that he gets from Elyse and Mallory are terrific.
bttf4444 10-14-2007, 10:08 PM Alex: Wait a minute, Doc! Are you telling me that you built a time machine... out of a DeLorean?
Oops, wrong show!
Actually, from My Name Is Alex:
Alex: I mean, if God wanted me to stay away from girls - he wouldn't've made me so cute.
catlover79 10-27-2008, 07:03 PM Keaton Manor - Season 3 - possibly the funniest episode of the series!! "There was a kangaroo...in my living room!!"

That was the ep when Alex tried out for a ballet company, cause he was trying to share in Ellen's interests (it backfired, of course)

Tucker1237 06-28-2017, 10:19 AM Moment: In the later season when Steven is teaching Jennifer to drive in the kitchen
Quote: "You see uh, great events make great men" (from Alex in "Philidaulphia Story) (I know I spelled philidaulphia wrong) (I know that quote's not very funny but I think it's pretty memorable)
Episode: Say Uncle (The one where Tom Hanks plays a drunk)
