Dutabi84 02-17-2005, 08:38 PM Nor should he! He's awesome. It would only be fitting if he croaked durring a showcase-showdown. Kazza 02-17-2005, 08:39 PM I don't watch him anymore. He's been senile for a while. I miss Rod Roddy though announcing the contestants and to come on down :( Penny Lane 02-17-2005, 08:57 PM He's still there?! I haven't watched that show in years! Georgia's on my Mind 02-17-2005, 08:57 PM im having all funny images of barker dying during different games....omg, too funny Georgia's on my Mind 02-17-2005, 09:07 PM TVShow Analyzer: giving up his job as Host of the Price is Right-LOL What the hell is he talking about? Does he realized he is 81 and not 61. Bob is talking crazy. Show some respect for a veteran of television. Just so you are aware, you come off as condescending a lot. Show some respect for a veteran of television. He has reached the point in his life when it's time to hand the job over to someone else. Walter Cronkite is still not the CBS Evening News Anchor over the age of 80. Georgia's on my Mind 02-17-2005, 09:16 PM Georgia's on my Mind: Just so you are aware, you come off as condescending a lot. And you are kind of condescending as well. Actually, I am more arrogant than condescending. Exactitude of meaning, my friend. Krisalicious 02-17-2005, 09:20 PM It would only be fitting if he croaked durring a showcase-showdown. Anyway, without Bob, the Price is Right wouldn't be the Price is Right. He makes the show what it is today. Chelsea 02-17-2005, 09:25 PM I don't watch him anymore. He's been senile for a while. The man's 81 years old...a little senility comes with the territory. For what it's worth, he actually seems to have regained himself mentally, by and large, the last couple of years. The show, now, is probably the best it's been in the last 15 years. Chelsea 02-17-2005, 09:29 PM Does he realized he is 81 and not 61. Bob is talking crazy. Age is not the de facto factor in whether someone is qualified to host a television program. Bob is 81 years old, and is in better mental and physical shape than a ***LOT*** of people twenty years younger. I'd like to see YOU be 81, and still be capable of doing the things Bob does Chelsea 02-17-2005, 09:31 PM He has reached the point in his life when it's time to hand the job over to someone else. Walter Cronkite is still not the CBS Evening News Anchor over the age of 80. Because when people get into their 70s and 80s, they automatically become incapable of anything other than eating strained peas while getting their Depends changed, RIGHT Solomon? Kay Scarpetta 02-17-2005, 09:48 PM Everytime I think of that show, I think of when he made a cameo in 'Happy Gilmore'... 'The price is wrong, bitch!' Fleet 02-17-2005, 10:34 PM I still watch the show quite often. In fact, I was watching it when it was almost new. It started in Sept., 1972 and I was still in grade school. I graduated from grade school in June, 1973, so it must have been the first ('72-'73) season. I was home by the time the show came on (I forgot the time; I think 2:00 PM). A neighborhood kid and I watched it at his house, sometimes we watched the following show ("Dinah," as in Dinah Shore). Anyway, it's still is a fun show to watch and Bob seems to be very alert. I noticed he sometimes adds the prices before it is done for him on his viewer screen. Senility does not automatically come with old age. People mistake it for that because by the time a person is 80 years old, his/her brain has much more information stored than someone who is 40 years old and it takes longer to draw from that info. I think Bob should stay on as the host as long as he enjoys it, and he does seem to still have fun doing it. dawsongirl 02-17-2005, 10:48 PM We'll see Bob quit when we see the battle of the Richards on Family Feud. In other words, never. David 02-17-2005, 11:05 PM wow i had no idea he was already 81!! bossradio93 02-17-2005, 11:12 PM giving up his job as Host of the Price is Right-LOL What the hell is he talking about? Does he realized he is 81 and not 61. Bob is talking crazy. Let's see you host "The Price is Right" or a daytime game show if NBC or ABC get back into the daytime game show business again (for about the next 30 years or so)! This should be in the Game Shows forum. :) TVFactFan 02-17-2005, 11:16 PM Let's see you host "The Price is Right" or a daytime game show if NBC or ABC get back into the daytime game show business again (for about the next 30 years or so)! 'The price is wrong, bitch!' Best. Line. Ever. I love that movie. KJH278 02-18-2005, 12:15 AM Bob Barker rules Mr. Television 02-18-2005, 12:23 AM I think Bob Barker should continue to host it as long as he is able. The show won't be the same without him. Stormtracker TF 02-18-2005, 12:24 AM Bob Barker is the man. Wouldnt be "The Price Is Right" without him. musicradio77 02-18-2005, 12:46 AM Everytime I think of that show, I think of when he made a cameo in 'Happy Gilmore'... 'The price is wrong, bitch!' I love that movie, I still have it on VHS copied off of Fox-5 two years ago. I love Bob Barker and I still love "The Price Is Right". Fleet 02-18-2005, 03:05 AM I forgot to mention a few things about Bob Barker/The Price is Right... I recorded some episodes in 1985 (and other years). Anyway, I have about four episodes in which Bob still had brown hair and when Johnny Olsen was the announcer. Brent88 02-18-2005, 11:24 AM Nor should he! He's awesome. It would only be fitting if he croaked durring a showcase-showdown. :rotflmao: OK... that was not funny. Brent88 02-18-2005, 11:25 AM Everytime I think of that show, I think of when he made a cameo in 'Happy Gilmore'... 'The price is wrong, bitch!' Oh God... that was freaking hilarious!!! GARFIELDKOOL 02-18-2005, 11:54 AM He better give it up. How much longer can he take contestances jumping on him? 80s_Fan 02-18-2005, 12:00 PM :woohoo: I say he should continue on for as long as he can  *MIBabe03* 02-18-2005, 12:52 PM Bob Barker is 81? Holy crap! He totally had botox. The man's forehead doesn't move. Anyway he should stay on the show. Janice 02-18-2005, 01:03 PM If Barker still feels up to it, then I say go for it. I saw Art Linkletter on a talk show last night. He's 93, looks great and has a razor sharp wit. Some people just age better than others. Linkletter credited his positive outlook on life to his longevity. Dude111 08-06-2023, 06:30 PM giving up his job as Host of the Price is Right-LOLHe should have stayed, its become utter crap since he left! I havent watched it since....
