Is there something you may have learned from the show that you carried with you through the years?
Many of the shows had moral dilemas and decisions that had to be made...maybe one of those...
I can honestly say that I believe I learned alot of moral lesson...but ONE thing that sticks out in my mind...and I didnt even realize it was from the VERY FIRST SHOW until I watched again when I got the tapes a couple years back.... Daisy in spanish....Margarita..... When Chico uses Ed booze to clean the grease off the bench and then puts the daisy in the empty bottle... "that was a stupid thing to do... "well in spanish daisy is margarita....Margret.... (eds late wifes name)....

I loved Chico's way of dealing with Ed! When I first watched the show, I hated Ed's character because he was so mean and cranky! Chico's way of dealing with the cranky old man with humor and love is something I carried with me to my profession (I'm a nurse in a nursing home).
When I'm dealing with a cranky patient, I can turn on that "Chico charm" and it usually works wonders!

This might sound strange, but tolerance for a culture that is different than my own. I was kinda sheltered in a "white bread" existance, even tho growing up in the vacinity of NYC I was surrounded by other races and cultures. You would have thought I would have learned it from my surroundings, but it took this show to show me that we all have something to share with the larger world community. I can't say I was as biggoted as Ed was (in the beginning of the show) but I will say I wasn't as open to other cultures as I am now.
I learned that laughter helps everything, it cheers you up, helps you deal with stress and attitudes and it reminds me how much fun it is to laugh....thank you CATM and thank you FREDDIE!

Hola!
Lessons learned from Freddie Prinze,
1.) Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.
2.) Suicide by a healthy young non terminal person is an act of selfishness. (Ask his son and other children) Depression and addiction are treatable illnesses not a spiritual malady.
3.) Don't snort cocaine.
4.) Firearms and depressed addicted people don't mix.
5.) Money and fame does not buy happiness.
