And I certainly hope that they include the original second-season theme that used real instruments, vs. the redone one used for syndication.

I have a feeling, though, that it will be full as-originally-aired episodes, since we're not trying to squeeze in commercials here.

Thank You! I was thinking the same thing. There is only one ep in season two in which the original theme song for that season is aired and that is when Rudy decides to play football. I want the full season one version as well, and not just in the first two episodes like in syndication.

I hope thet have extra features on the disc (ex. interviews with the cast, early auditions, The Cosby Reunion Special etc.)

That would be great.

any word on bonus features?

I'm sure hell will freeze over before we get Lisa to do a commentary track, but I'm sure everyone else would contribute.

Interesting use of that slogan "In a house filled with love.. there's always room for more.." on the cover. That was used in the final episode.

Our review of this set is coming very soon. Seth is working hard to bring it to you. I'll warn people right now, this could be a Too Close for Comfort S1 and ALF S1/S2 all over again. More details will come in his review ... stay tuned! And if you don't know what I mean, shame on you!

I was thinking about this the other day. Urbanworks did a bad job with the first Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids release because I discovered some episodes were shorter than the versions released on TimeLife. That's why I think they delayed the release of the 2nd volume, to hopefully try and get it right.

With the Cosby Show, I was thinking that if Carsey/Werner is directly involved, there should be no problem with the episodes being cut or uncut. I figure if CW was involved with the distribution deal, Urbanworks should have been supplied with complete episodes. There's no excuse if these episodes aren't complete.

The press release states:
"The discs will feature all original NBC network versions, including the pilot episode, which are approximately two minutes longer than the syndicated versions. "

Yet they don't. Read our review soon.

I don't want it then. I can tape all the episodes from N@N and have someone DVD-R it for me if I wanted the syndicated versions.

It looks to be syndicated prints (same as TBS, WGN, locals use). Nick@Nite makes their own edits, so there might be scenes from the original broadcast version on their versions, while some syndicated scenes we usually seen are not.

So N@N's prints MIGHT be the network versions? Then I guess I'll be watching it more often. I noticed that the N@N version of Denise Kendall: Navy Wife is a minute longer than the WGN version. So maybe that's the deal?

No, Nick@Nite is NOT the network version. I said they have scenes that TBS/WGN/locals don't show, but they also have scenes cut from that version. If there are diehards out there, cut/paste both versions together, and you might have the unedited version.

Could anyone get in contact with the company and remind them of this statement from their press release? I've been wanting The Cosby Show on DVD for years, and I can't believe that they are disrespecting the fans with cut episodes.

I really wish Carsey-Werner had allowed Fox to do this release. Didn't Fox do That 70s Show and God, The Devil, and Bob so that they could do TCS and Roseanne?

Roseanne Got Picked Up By Anchor Bay Along With 3rd Rock From the Sun And Grounded For Life, And If Those Are Synicated Cuts All Be Pissed So You never Know At This Time If It Is Carsey Werner's Mix-Up Or Urban Work's Mix-Up...

I'm 99% positive this is Urbanworks. They screwed up the Fat Albert releases too. If it were Carsey-Werner's mix-up, then Fox's That 70s Show sets would have edited episodes too...

I think the S.O. memebers are the only ones who would know the eps are uncut. Someone who is not a member and recieves word that TCS is coming to DVD, they will still buy it because they are not die hard tv fans likes us. We are only a small portion of people in the U.S. who really cares that the eps are cut. My cousin doesn;t care if a ep is cut, she still watches it and enjoy it. Me and you on the otherhand want the FULL LENGTH and refuse to pay a dime for the DVD if it's not.

You're right Solomon. The Cosby Show will sell well regardless, because it's such a huge hit.

The sad thing is, a lot of people still prefer to watch movies in fullscreen when they were shot in widescreen, which is just as bad as a movie being edited.

I used to hate widescreen DVDs of movies. Now, however, I've changed my mind. I prefer widescreen after watching "The Mummy" in both versions and saw just how much is cut out of the full frame.

I agree that "The Cosby Show" being edited won't stop a lot of people from buying it. That's just the kind of world we're living in.

People, ill give you a great example:

In the episode where Theo was trying to convice Rudy to eat her brussell sprouts, there was a scene in the ending credits where Rudy was dancing in the living room, something they didnt show. If you people have that episode, watch it and tell what you think about it.

That's just a rumor, but it doesn't look good. Anchor Bay is handling Roseanne, so I'm more relaxed, but I don't know what CW's problem is. We will have that set for review soon, and will find out.
