a browser can only be as secure as the user is capable of keeping it secure - MS hasn't abandoned ActiveX or browser helper objects, and try as they might to combat phishing schemes, it is ultimately up to the user to keep these things out. The only difference with IE 7.0 is that the browser will try to inform you that something is trying to be installed and give you the option to cancel it - it can not identify the component and can only do so much to protect from address spoofing.

The best way to keep it secure is to educate yourself.

Very true. You, the user, are ultimately responsible for the safety of your own computer. I learned that the hard way last year.

Nah, I'll stick with my Firefox, thanks.

I think internet explorer will always be unsafe. Microsoft wants to keep applications built in that allow malicious code.

Not really interested in computer stuff.Just as long as mine works.;)
