The ones from seasons 1-3 when they had the family and Willona, or the one from seasons 4-6 when they showcased people partying? I liked the ones when the people were partying better. (secret: when I was little, I use to be scared to look at that picture. I didn't know what they were. I thought they were a tribe from africa about to attack. Ha ha! )

I'd say the family portrait actually. I wonder why they didn't opt to do up another version of the family sans James Evans. Perhaps the decision to fire John Amos was done at the last minute and there simply wasn't time to do up another family portrait? When was John fired anyway? Was it immediately after Season 3 or was it near the beginning of Season 4?

Back to the pic: another reason accounting for the change may be due to the ever changing lineup of the cast. I think it was anticipated that Esther Rolle would be leaving (she was very vocal about her feelings towards John Amos' firing), Bookman being more prominent, and the eventual addition of Keith and Penny (I know they didn't know about these 2 at the beginning of Season 4, but surely they knew someone new would be added...
