It is hard for me to choise. My heart says Kramden, but my head says Flintstone. Without The Honeymooners, there would be no Flintstones. Ralph and Fred are both fictional characters and therefore neither one is truly an icon. Jackie Gleason is one of my comedic idols and The Honeymooners is one of my favorite TV shows. However, if I mention "Ralph Kramden" to someone in their twenties or teens, chances are they're not going to know who I'm talking about. But they WILL know Fred Flintstone. If I say "Yabba Dabba Doo!" they know who I'm referencing. So I'm going with the man named Flintstone on this one. |
