For anyone who seen more than one episode of this show, can you tell me if Todd Bridges had a BIG role on this show? I'm thinking yes since he was chosen to play Gary Coleman's older brother on Diffrent Strokes a year later but just want to confirm it

simply put, Todd Bridges was the Gary Coleman of "Fish."
i think his character was named Loomis and he was the cute sassy one the camera and the script writers favored.
notice in the promo pic above how Todd is strategically placed next to Abe Vigoda in the front-accident? hardly!

Todd Bridges also guested on a first season Barney Miller episoded called "The Hero". I guess that's how he got the job on the Fish show.

Bridges did indeed have a significant role on "Fish," playing the pint-sized orphan Loomis. Bridges had previously guest-starred in the season one episode "The Hero," playing Truman Jackson. According to Bridges's memoir, "Killing Willis," Danny Arnold (the co-creator and co-executive producer of "Barney Miller") saw potential in Bridges and cast him in a pilot called "The Orphan and the Dude." (Though the pilot aired, the series wasn't picked up.) Nearly two years later, Arnold cast Bridges on "Fish," and the rest is history.
