Classic album. I like the songs Save Your Love For #1 with Kurtis Blow, I'll Be Good(Foxy Brown sampled this for I'll Be song with Jay-Z), You Don't Have To Cry, Street Called Desire, Your Smile(Junior Mafia sampled this for Backstabbers song), Who's Foolin Who. I heard that Rene used to beat up Angela Winbush when they were together. That's messed up. Angela is very attractive & she has a very nice singin voice. Her & Ronald Isley used to be married for awhile. I like her solo songs Angel & Treat You Right.

This is a classic album. I heard the same thing about Rene beating up Angela Winbush.

This whole album is off the hook. I got the record when it came out 20 years ago & I bought it when they finally released it on CD in '97. My favorite Rene & Angela song is "My First Love" which unfortunately is not on this album. It's one of my all-time favorite slow jams

I only know the singles Save Your Love, I'll Be Good, Your Smile and You Don't Have to Cry -- all of which were top 4 soul chart hits which is very unusual considering they never made the top ten before that (although I Love you More and My First Love both hit the top 20). This duo never hit the pop top 40 with any records though, which shows that the pop charts let some pretty decent stuff go unnoticed in the 80s. I always found Your Smile an odd record for a duo because Rene Moore is nowhere to be found on it, perhaps that contributed to Angela dumping him and going solo. Rene never really had much success without her, but Angela was quite big for a while starting with Angel which sounds an awful lot like Your Smile and had the same type of chart success- topping the r&b list ang going nowhere pop.

I remember hearing the rumors about Rene & Angela's relationship too. As far as I can tell, Angela had all the talent. :p (Well, she did!)
Anyways, I thought she sang the hell out of "Your Smile" and "You Don't Have To Cry". "I'll Be Good" still jams after 20 years. "Save Your Love" hasn't aged well to me.

Rene wasn't that bad of a singer I guess but the first thing I think of when he comes to mind is his perm. All those singers in the 80s had processed hair. He co-wrote Jam with Michael Jackson. Save Your Love is a dated song, it's true, unlike the others. Your Smile is very dramatic, I agree. Her vocal style was unique. The were lovers if I'm not mistaken, then she married Ron Isley. Whatever happened to her anyway? After Treat U Rite in 1994 she stopped having hits.

 I'm glad you said that 'cause he reminds me of O'Bryan. Do you remember him? Their respective coifs could be twins. :p
As to what happened to Angela, she still writes and produces for other artists. She still works with the Isleys, I'm assuming her split from Ronald was not acrimonious. (sp?) In fact, I didn't know they were divorced until I read about his stroke last summer. He's married to someone else now. :o

I remember O'Bryan. He kinda looks like Babyface. He sang Lovelite & You & I songs.
