Besides Pinocchio is an old movie and my grandma used to read the story to me so I would love to see it on the big screen. miss landers 02-13-2005, 06:16 PM The first horror movie I saw was "Thirteen Ghosts" way back in 1960. I was 10 (same age as the Beave) and it was the first time I was permitted to go downtown with a friend. I'll never forget it! I couldn't sleep for months afterwards. "Thirteen Ghosts" was a 3-D film. When you entered the theater you were given a pair of cardboard glasses that created a 3-D effect at certain moments in the film. Needless to say, I didn't become a big, big, big horror fan after this experience but I faithfully followed Vincent Price's "Poe" horror films from the early sixties. My siblings and I enjoyed Saturday afternoon monster and horror TV films like "Dracula", "Them", "Queen of Outer Space", "Frankenstein", and "Plan 9 from Outer Space." That scene where the little boy turns into a donkey.... Yes, I agree. In the Disney animated film, the scene where the boys turn into donkeys is frightening. Other frightening Disney animated scenes for me include: all the Witch scenes in "Snow White", the death of Bambi's mother, and the spanking scene in "Dumbo." (When I was a 4 year old tot, the Snow White Witch was on the back of a cereal box. I was scared to death every time I looked at that box across the kitchen table!) gilligan fanatic 02-19-2005, 10:59 AM Voodoo Curse if I was Wally, and Pinoccchio if I was Beaver |
