"The Dark Boy" is one of my very favorite Night Gallery episodes.
A new young schoolteacher named Mrs. Timm (a nice performance by Elizabeth Hartman) arrives at a rural American town (in the days when school was taught in one-room schoolhouses), but something is rather odd about the townsfolk behaviour. First she receives a mysterious card warning her "Don't Come!" Secondly, the town busybodies Abigail and Littie Moore also tell her not to go to the schoolhouse at night, as that where the trouble with the previous schoolteacher started. It seems the lady in question left in a great hurry leaving the town without a schoolmistress. When Mrs. Timm tells them there are 17 children in the schoolhouse—they flatly deny this stating there are only 16. Why do they act so oddly when she mentions the dark boy?
This episode is actually lighter than most and feels more like a mystery than anything else—the secrets of which are too easily uncovered by Mrs. Timm and us as the audience. The episode was based on a short story by August Derleth.

You're welcome! I'm glad I could help out. :)
It's a great episode, although I just did some checking and it's not airing this month. Encore's Mystery Channel was airing it weekdays, though. :(
