I tried eating Buffalo Shrimp Tonight and I struggled all the way through. I had to drink water after each shrimp and really could not enjoy my dinner. Anyone else have this problem with Spicy Food?

I have absolutely no problem with even the hottest spicy food.

Must be all that mexican food I used to eat.

I don't care for spicy food at all. Losing my breath and needing to drink a glass of water after each bite is not my idea of a satisfying meal.

Exactly Janice, no meal that has your mouth on fire can never be satisfying.

I ate Buffalo Wings once that were so hot my eyes were watering and I could hardly see. Thats about the hottest thing I ever ate.

Years ago, I ate a piece of pepper in a Chinese food dish. It actually took my breath away. I thought I was going to die, and I'm serious. I was breathless and sweaty. It was nuts. I'll bet there are exotic foods that can kill a person.

If you can handle the heat it makes the meal all that more satisfying.

A few months ago I got something at a chinese buffet that I thought was desert. I put it in my mouth and it caused a burning sensation and it tasted awful. I have no idea what it was but I stay with banana pudding from now on when I go there.

I never cared much for really spicy foods, but anything I eat that is spicy upsets my stomach anyways. :(

My dad fixed spaghetti once that was so spicy, we had to take a drink and take a bite at the same time, I swear I could have breathed fire

Amen to that. I don't like food that I have to work at to eat nor food that causes me pain to eat.

I can handle some spicy goodies. I don't eat hot peppers or wasabi, which is quickly catching on in the United States. (Okay, I may try a bit of wasabi) someday. I had heartburn I think last week after eating a Doritos® 'Rollitos' snack a couple hours before I went to bed. One rule, never eat anything spicy shortly before going to bed or it can be hell. Eat a small amount of something spicy, but not too much earlier in the day.

That reminds me of all the Chinese buffets where they have crab legs. I see people practically stepping on those things to get them open. Mmm mmm...good eatin to me.

That was your mistake, drinking water. As much as you want to, doing that only makes it hotter. I heard eating bread is better.

I can handle alot of spicy stuff. I get my Shrimp with Garlic Sauce at chinese take-out and it's listed as spicy on their menu. To me, it wasn't spicy. One time when I ordered it, I asked her if she could make it a little more spicier and she said that it was already spicy, and I told her I didn't think it was. It's still not spicy.

I dislike hot spicy food like hot buffalo wings, hot Mexican or Chinese dishes, etc. I do, however, love spices. I used fresh basil, mint, parsley and other spices while cooking. I have a full spice cabinet. I love spicy food, but not hot spicy food.

Heck no!

I live for spicy foods!!! I eat the hottest chiles. It's just our culture in my state. We have so many Mexican foods that we just crave that hot food.

There is this really, really spicy hot chile called "lumbre" (fire), and let me tell ya - it is NO wuss chile! ;)

I can handle spicy food, but not hot spicy food. Jalapenos make me cry and besides, I don't even like them.

I can handle most Mexican dishes. You know, I could really go for a chicken fajita rollup right now...Mmmm :liplick: I've been craving it forever.

I like a bit of spice from time to time but my favorite spice is Turmeric. I really don't care much for anything "hot" or "spicy" unless it's a mild salsa that is tame.

I love Mexican and Italian food also chili but it can't be too spicy ! I
I always order " mild" if they ask what kind of salsa I want!;) Even the Kung Pao chicken from Panda Express is way too spicy for me . And it would be really good if they cut down a little on the spice ! ;)

Caroline13

Bonnie, I don't find the Kung Pao to be too spicy/hot and for sure toss out the chili peppers in the mix, as a matter of fact the Panda in my neighborhood store, has lost a lot of
quality and I stopped buying it for a while. They are the closest to me.

I like spicy.

When we go to Subway, I've more recently been enjoying their Buffalo Chicken sandwich, dripping with buffalo sauce.

And one of the tavern's we get take out from, I like the Cowboy hamburger which has jalapenos on it.

I don't usually eat a lot of spicy food but I do love spicy buffalo wings and I can usually eat the whole platter without it leaving a spicy tingling in my mouth. But buy me a bag of hot fries and i'll eat them in one sitting and even though some people might think hot fries are too spicy but not me because hot fries are my comfort food. I also like homemade spicy french fries and they taste amazing and I usually eat a whole plate of them but spicy soups are not my favorite
