What does it mean if a dvd pauses 3 times during a movie? It can't be a layer change because layer changes only happen in one spot. Could someone identify the problem? Thanks in advance.

I'm not an expert but your DVD might have a scratch or it might need to be cleaned.

Mine does that every now and then. I bought a Maxell dvd cleaner. Just pop it in your player, and it only takes a few minutes. I also have the Maxell cleaning wipes for the dvds.

I used DVD-R's, I skipped the scene of a recent movie, I push the scene skip button with the arrows pointed and was still froze and I waited and waited for 15 seconds unti lthe scene stops. That was on my portable DVD player. I have DVD-R's that I copied from homemade videos into DVD's. Insignia has problems with the portable DVD player.
