View Full Version : HEY!! why the hell wasn't BINGO in the reunion??
strokes-fiend 02-11-2005, 09:52 PM Or in the softball game for that matter?? Hell, we all ought to know just how much success he deserves and how Joannie Loves Chachi so far has cursed/abortionized/vacectemized his career/success all this time! He was so well on his way in the early80s as a comedy-great-to-be just before accidently making that big mistake by allowing himself on that show in the first place (he was THE ONLY BRIGHT SPOT on that show! it wasn't HIS FAULT the show sucked so bad!) Seems to me that Bingo's gonna be blackballed/overlooked for life. Oh well. :(
robyrob 02-12-2005, 12:10 AM ummm, possibly because he was barely on a single episode of Happy Days?
I don't know why you assume that anyone would associate Bingo with the Happy Days reunion, but he was never really a part of the show - unlike the other spinoff characters that were there...
Bingo was great on Joanie Loves Chachi, whether that ruined his career or not is pretty hard to say.
dickswift 02-14-2005, 09:08 AM Bingo Robert Pierce is still alive and working quite much in his career. He was recently seen on a series called Monk. He looks well and the HD reunion was a bout happy days not joanie loves chachi.
strokes-fiend 02-15-2005, 10:24 PM Yeah, swift, Hollywood bigwigs have allowed Bingo some lesser known stuff through the years just to make it look good but Bingo IS on their blacklist! They will NEVER allow him the rolls that they allow such giants as Travolta, R Williams, Cam Diaz, and Will Ferrell who, by the way, it's VERY SAFE to say that he was inspired by Bingo's comedic work (or at least inspired by Bingo's OWN inspiration - Donny Most). I would LOVE to hear someone ask Will who inspired him comedically in an interview. I GUARANTEE you the answer will either one of them or BOTH even! BINGO DESERVES SUCCESS, people!! Will Hollywood PLEASE allow him it before it gets too late (he being.....70?)!!!
So he was once on Joannie Loves Chachi, well excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse him!!
spunkygirl 02-15-2005, 11:15 PM Who on earth is Bingo?

well, without opening up the ENTIRE can of worms here, "Bingo", AKA Robert Pierce starred in the Happy Days spinoff Joanie Loves Chachi . He played the drummer of the group - his character was pretty funny, he was sort of a spaced-out surfer weirdo. He did appear on one episode of Happy Days (#226 - Life Is More Important Than Show Business) where the Fonz tries to get Joanie and Chachi's band a record contract, but the band is too busy fighting amongst themselves. Robert Pierce appeared in a number of other shows and plays after the demise of Joanie Loves Chachi, but because he never became a "superstar", our friend stokes believes that there is a secret Hollywood conspiracy to "blackball" him.
spunkygirl 02-16-2005, 12:04 AM Thanks Roby :)
Mr. Television 02-16-2005, 12:40 AM well, without opening up the ENTIRE can of worms here, "Bingo", AKA Robert Pierce starred in the Happy Days spinoff Joanie Loves Chachi . I didn't realize that their were still people around who remember Bingo, let alone where big fans of his.
strokes-fiend 02-17-2005, 08:41 PM Bingo IS being blackballed by the Hollywood community! Has been for the last 22 years! He's such a funny man! He DOES deserve success! But because he was once on JLC...................Damn! He was well on his way in the early 80s. He was a comedic jewel-in-the-rough. PROOF that he should have been a star, he showed the whole world that he was more than just a comedian with his portrayal as the assistant coach in 'Miracle on Ice' (and, AGAIN, why the hell wasn't Bingo allowed to redo that roll with Kurt Russell 25 years later in 'Miracle'??) and then KICKED DOWN THE DOOR as far as his diversity was concerned with his ever-so-graceful performance of a RUSSIAN SPRINTER in another Olympic classic, 'The Golden Moment - An Olympic Love Story'! Them rolls SIGNED and SEALED the man! But thanks to his grave mistake (we all know what THAT was) and to unforgiving and unfair Hollywood, he still to this very day has yet to be DELIVERED! DELIVERED to...............success. And showing his class, he's not griping about it/not loudly angrily protesting it, he just sits and waits with a smile until Hollywood finally allows him to shine. Roby and you others in here - if you only took the time to study him some and know the man's funnywork a bit, you would all totally, totally, totally understand.
Trust me, he's a very very funnyman; serious. From the School of Ralph Malph.
robyrob 02-17-2005, 11:55 PM Fame is fleeting and Hollywood is fickle - an actor's talent and body of work should speak for itself. You (I'm assuming that Mr Pierce himself already is) should be grateful for the opportunity that was given to him when he was cast in a primetime sitcom on a major network. There is no blackball - "Bingo" has worked before and after JLC, and will most likely continue to work in other roles as they become available, whether he ever becomes an "A-List" star or not is completely irrelevent.
Enjoy the work that Mr Pierce has done, encourage others to check it out and experience his talent, but please, stop alienating people with the irrational assertion that there is some mysterious conspiracy to stop Bingo - it just doesn't make any sense. It only serves to make his fans look as loony as his characters are.

Yeah, exactly.
Anyways, putting Bingo in the HD Reunion would've been kinda an insult to other less major characters who werent there. He was in what, 2 episodes max and had 10 lines? 85% of the people who watched that wouldnt know who the heck he was.
