Mainstream stuff. Let's see who I have a lot of songs of... Beatles Monkees ABBA Billy Joel Elton John Eagles Stuff like that. Not into rap, R&B, country, heavy metal... I'm an oldies person (1950's-70's)-very early '80's (around up to 1984) Pop Standards/Big Bands Classic Rock Instrumentals (Easy Listening/Beautiful Music) Some Classic Country Heavy Metal (sparingly) Anything pre-1950's Too many artists/groups bands to list, I just want to hear 'the story of Rock 'N Roll' like it should be told. Question: Do you dislike the R&B of today, or the R&B of yesterday? The R&B of yesterday (Temptations, Four Tops, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, etc.) has a lot of heart and soul and packs a powerful punch while todays R&B just doesn't cut it much anymore. Does not have the quality sound and artfullness it once had. Oh, I agree. I hate Rap, too! Only just five songs I like and that's it. crystals 02-13-2005, 12:14 AM Beatles, Paul McCartney, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, Big Bopper, Selena, Del Shannon, Chuck Berry, Chubby Checker, Eddie Cochrane, Jackie Wilson, Kylie Minogue, Martika, Debbie Gibson, Tiffany, Sheryl Crow, Amanda Marshall and Robyn. dawsongirl 02-13-2005, 03:47 AM Question: Do you dislike the R&B of today, or the R&B of yesterday? It doesn't have that distinct sound it once had from the early 1980's on down. Anytime up to the early '80's, R&B was great. Then the sound changed. Was it due to Marvin Gaye, Jr.'s death? No one knows. |
