View Full Version : Sherman Hemsley on The Jeffersons rserafin 05-25-2001, 10:56 AM does anybody remember a few episodes where sherman was on playing carl's captain? Devastation26 05-26-2001, 12:11 AM yep. That was before I ever heard of the Jefferson's. Furienna 08-29-2008, 11:22 PM I always wondered why the audience always would cheer whenever Sherman Hemsley showed up on a sitcom. (He was in "Fresh Prince" and "Sister, sister" too.) But then, I heard about "The Jeffersons". I don't think they ever even aired that show over here in Sweden. catlover79 08-29-2008, 11:26 PM I think I VAGUELY remember him guesting on FM. I do remember his guest spots as Grandpa Campbell on Sister, Sister. It's funny because Sherman Hemsley is only like 6 years older than his on-screen son, Tim Reid.  Furienna 08-29-2008, 11:41 PM Oh, really! I never thought there was such a small age difference! catlover79 08-29-2008, 11:44 PM He was only a few years older than his kids on the Jeffersons (Mike Evans and Damon Evans as Lionel) and Amen (Anna Maria Horsford as Thelma). Odd, isn't it? Furienna 08-29-2008, 11:51 PM Does he really look so much older than his real age then? catlover79 08-29-2008, 11:53 PM To me, he always seemed older because his characters had older kids. But he was only in his mid-30s when he began playing George Jefferson!!! |
