I'm sure more titles are to come but this is what I read on TV Shows on DVD.
The Adventures of Pete & Pete. Are You Afraid of the Dark? Salute Your Shorts. You Can't Do That on Television! All of these classic Nickelodeon series from the early days of the cable channel are much wanted on DVD by their fans. But high on the list is the show that made Melissa Joan Hart a star: Clarissa Explains It All. And now Clarissa's first season - all 13 episodes - has been announced for a May 17th release that launches a new line of Nick DVDs: The Rewind Collection.

But wait a minute? Where are the titles like Hey, Dude?

Old-school Nickelodeon was super cool. I don't know what I would get, but I wouldn't get Clarissa because I wasn't a big fan of that show. Nick should release the earliest seasons of All That. If they do, I'll love them forever!

I'd like to own Season Sets of Kenan & Kel, Hey, Dude, Doug, Salute Your Shorts, Clarissa Explains It All, Are You Afraid of the Dark, etc.

Nickelodeon/Viacom does not own the rights to "You Can't Do That on Television" and other shows they aired in the 80's. In the early days, Nickelodeon did not produce most of their programming, other companies produced it for them. In the early 90's, Nickelodeon opened their own studio in Orlando, and started producing their own shows.

If they want to release "You Can't Do That On Television" (which I think would be great) they have to clear it up with the shows canadian distributor.

Other shows I would like to see, already mentioned "Kenan and Kel", also would like to see the early "All That" (hopefully they can clear it so most of the music preformances can be included) and "Welcome Freshmen".

Nickelodeon is ruthless for cancelling a television show. So what makes them think that these shows will sell?

It is a concern of mine that Nickelodeon will abandon the "Rewind Collection" just as quickly.

Sticky's aren't generally made for specific shows or collection lines on this board. Only one dvd title has been announced so far. A sticky for this topic isn't warranted.

Concerning Nickelodeon's catalogue, it isn't necessarily Nickelodeon, it's Paramount that's releasing it. Paramount is the distributor of much of the programming from MTV Networks, which includes Nickelodeon. The decision to release Clarissa on dvd wasn't one solely made by the people at Nickelodeon.

Just announced, on the same date as Clarissa Explains is All is released, Paramont will release another show from the Nickelodeon Rewind Collection, season 1 of The Adventures of Pete and Pete. Maybe in June or July they will release the first seasons of All That, (hopefully with musical preformances included) Kenan and Kel.

Bring on the classic game shows as well. I think Nickelodeon plans on releasing all the shows mentioned. Hopefully they'll release Kenan and Kel as well (I know it's not.... from the early 90s but I think it's good enough to be considered a classic.)

Ah, Kenan & Kel was like.... Lucy & Ethel, Laurel & Hardy. They had a schtick.

I can't think of anymore. I think I just named all of them.

As far as game shows go, it depends if it originally aired as a weekly series, or a daily series. If it was a daily series, which means a new episode regularly aired every day, I doubt it will ever be released on DVD.

Any show that airs new episodes 5 days a week, for example game shows, talk shows, daytime soups, etc., rarely have reruns in syndication or any DVD releases.

I agree about Kenan and Kel, and I think that show will be released sooner than later, if not at the very least Kenan is a castmember on Saturday Night Live.

I'm SO hyped about old school Nick being released on DVD.

Yeah, for the Game Shows I'd settle on a Best Of thing since I think a lot of those were dailies. And I would love to see sets of David the Knome and Eureka's Castle.

Oh... SNL has become so ****ing stupid. I mean, I'd like something terrible to happen to each one of the current castmembers..... they think they're so funny, but they always play characters who seem stupid and it's not funny, at all. It's very, very sad how they act. It's embarrassing, I wouldn't want to stand on the stage and perform that kind of material.

I'd love to see David the Gnome and other old Nick Jr shows get released, but I'm thinking this collection will mostly consist of the sitcoms/live-action shows, sketch comedy shows, and maybe even Nicktoons.

Kenan has improved the show, when he is given an opportunity. I would like to see some of his All That characters like Baggin Saggin Barry, or Superdude on SNL. I would love for them to get Kel Mitchel to make a guest appearance and bring back Mavis and Clavis.

Kenan should not a feature castmember. He is an establish star prior to SNL. Billy Crystal, Martin Short, Michael McKean were establish stars when they joined the SNL cast, and were not featured players. Kenan should be a regular castmember.

I have a feeling that 2005-2006 will be one of the "revamp" years, when they wipe out a majority of the cast in favor of fresh new faces.

However, I think Kenan will stay on board and be upped to full cast member.

yes, this season has been a tad bit better than last year... at least SNL has made an effort to try to appeal to fans over 14 this season, and it is slightly more "cutting edge" with it's musical guests (doubt we would've seen Scissor Sisters or The Killers last year when it was TRL-oriented). Last years hosts included Justin, Christina, Lindsey Lohan and Nick & Jessica. This year has been a little more "we actually still have fans who knew the show existed before Will Ferrill" oriented.
