That's a very good observation. Seems like Rose and Sophia were always wearing sweaters. I have no idea why? Anyone else know?

Maybe the ocean breeze bothers them?

It always seems like older people are always cold, even if it is warm everywhere else. They probably have the AC on, and then get too cold?

I am so happy someone else noticed the sweater issue. I think Miami is cooler in the winter months, but certainly the mink stole and winter sweaters are extreme. Blanche always wear open toe sandals though...

Noticed this also throughout the episodes. Rose usually is always in a sweater, blanche in high heels, sofia in dresses, and dorothy in those ridiculous boots or open toed sandals.

I've always wondered that too. Seems the GG are a tad overdressed for Miami. Remember the Seinfeld episode when he talks about his parents and old people in general who move to Florida..."they sit around and pretend it isn't hot."

Some of Rose's sweaters were cute. Most of them had the theme of a barn and tree's. Ever notice the shirts that Dorothy wore, most of them had a lot of buttons. Dorothy was the tom-boy of the 4 ladies. Dorothy seemed like the rough-and tough one of the 4. And Sophia always had an open sweater on. Blanche had the most colorful outfits of the bunch.

I always assumed they wore sweaters because they'd have the air conditioner on non-stop. Also, it took place during the 80s and it seems like sweaters were big back then.
