Part 2 of this episode, tried to describe what was happening with everyone.
The girls are busy getting ready for the wedding at the church, as are the boys at Pete's. Helen compliments Rox on the job she did on her hair, Rox says she wishes she would let her do something with that flip. Meg says it's a good idea, Helen says no thank you. Patty comes in holding a cup and says there's a hot chocolate machine in the hallway. All the girls yell at her not to bring it in the room, worried it will get on the dress.
Pete is kidding around and says "I do want to take out the trash, I do want to babysit Johnny." Jack says that's pretty big talk for a guy who's always getting thrown out at the plate. Pete says he hasn't found the right girl yet. Will asks about Mrs. Pierce, says maybe he can go to the plate with her. Pete starts to tickle him, and all the boys join in.
Helen tells Patty to get dressed, and she's watching Johnny during the reception. Beth's aunt Alice is watching him now, Helen says she's been so helpful. Beth says she hopes her cousin Steven hasn't been too annoying, Patty says he's not, well since he's a teenage boy he's naturally annoying but he was actually quite helpful with the chairs. We can tell she likes him.
JJ comes out in his dress attire, asks if everyone's ready, Jack sees him, we can see he's semi-emotional. JJ asks what? Jack pats him on the shoulder and says let's go. JJ smiles.
We cut to Will walking down the aisle, followed by Patty, and then Meg. Then Jack and Beth enter, everybody stands up, JJ's smiling and so is Beth as she and Jack reach the altar. Their vows overlap as JJ and Beth says they take eachother to have and to hold, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in healt, all the days of my life. We see Helen and Jack proudly looking on, with Rox sitting in the front row with them. Then we see Henry and Sam, then Rox turns around and smiles at Luke. Meg looks at Sam, who smiles, and Patty looks at Steve.
The reception starts as part of a home video, showing the usual reception events, everyone having fun, Beth throwing the bouquet, and cutting the cake. Then Jack clings his glass to make a toast. He says you kids, you look around and see that it's not just eachother you've made happy today. He tells Beth he doesn't have to welcome her to the family, because she's already apart of it. He tells JJ that he's given Helen and him a whole lot to be proud of since he was the size of John III. He hopes that no one minds if they celebrate not only the beautiful wedding, but the fact that JJ's here to have it. He says love and happiness to both of you, cheers. Then JJ and Beth have their first dance to "Cherish." Helen and Jack, as well as others, also start dancing.
Luke and Rox are dancing, and because of their different tastes in music, earlier he called the music she listens to "bubblegum." She says since he asked her to dance, this proves he likes bubblegum music, but he says he asked to her dance because she like it. She smiles when he asks her to promise that they can play a little Phil Ochs at their wedding.
Sweet scene with Henry and Angela, who tells him she's going to have a nice wedding like this someday. She asks him about his and her mom's wedding, if he remembers it. He says sometimes like it was yesterday, other times like the day before.
Roxanne catches Patty and Steve kissing in the garage.
Meg makes Uncle Pete dance with her, who says he's not much of a dancer, but she says she'll cover for him. She says she owes him because he was right about Chris. Beth's dancing with Jack and she and Meg switch partners.
Patty tells Rox that the kiss with Steve was mainly an experiment, and it was a success.
Beth tells Helen that they need to get a picture. Helen goes to find the photographer, while Meg sees Chris lurking along the edge of the yard (God, he's like a bad rash you can't get rid of!).
Tom pulls JJ away to tell him that the game is no longer fixed like they thought, so they'll have to hope the team loses anyway. But there's no guarantee, and JJ's asks about his money, obviously regretting betting on the game. Pete comes up and tells JJ that he'll have to let him and Tom know what married life is like, and that Beth is looking for him to take a picture.
Chris tells Meg she deserves better but he loves her, even though he's not supposed to be there. Then Pete comes over to get him to leave, and Chris looks at Meg, but when she doesn't respond to his declaration he leaves voluntarily.
JJ's upset and doesn't smile during the pictures with Trip and Beth, looking over at Tom a couple times, who shakes his head that it's not looking good. But I have to say Beth looked really pretty in all of the pictures.
Later, JJ sadly watches Helen and Jack dance in the yard after most of the guest have left.
Rox comforts Patty who is upset because Steve left without saying goodbye or promising to call her.
Helen and Jack are still dancing when JJ comes out. Helen says she's going to clean up. JJ's upset, while Jack is happy.
Sam, who we did not see much of during the reception, breaks up with Melanie.
JJ tells Jack he lost the $2,000 he gave him, plus another $1,000 on a game. Jack's disappointed and says this isn't like JJ, gambling, he's not that kind of kid. JJ says he knows he's not, and tells him he can say whatever he wants, he knows he's mad. Jack says no, you don't know. He asks him why he did it, and when JJ doesn't respond, he says Jack? Jack says these kind of guys want their money right away, and JJ knows. Jack says he'll take care of it. JJ says what? Jack says he'll dig up the money, tells him not to worry, says young guys make mistakes. JJ says not like this. Jack says don't worry about it, tells him to go inside, as we see a happy Beth in the kitchen, Jack needs to think. JJ goes inside.
Meg tells Rox about Chris telling her he loves her, and even though she knows he lied and was a jerk, she says she's going to go tell him she loves him too.
Jack and Pete talking about the debt, Pete says the devil must be paid. Jack is frustrated because he can't think of any place to get the money, then says he may have to take that bribe. Pete tries to talk him out of it, saying if he does they own him. Jack says what choice do I have? He's my son, it's JJ. I don't have a choice.
JJ looking outside the kitchen window, Helen comes in with Trip, says she heard him cry, she'll put him down in her room so he and Beth can have the night. JJ says about that fight they had about her working for that peace outfit, how she said she would do anything for him, no matter what, even if he was a criminal or...Helen says yes. JJ says yeah. He walks over and says goodnight, then kisses her on the cheek and Trip on the head.
Shelly tells Meg that Chris got on his motorcycle and left town (I say good riddance, although I'm sure we haven't seen the last of him).
Beth's taking her hair down when JJ comes in, she says there's my guy, you kept me waiting. He says not too long I hope, she says no, then they kiss. She asks him to help her get out of her wedding dress and turns around. JJ says he needs to tell her something about the house, they didn't get it, somebody out bid them. She says that's alright, there's nothing we can do right? He says right. She says we'll find another one. He says right, as he closes the door to the attic, we'll find another one, though we know he's doubtful.
End of episode.
