problem is, the music industry is too impatient to see if the next Nirvana will happen. I remember a few years ago, they were shoving The Vines down your throat as "the next Nirvana" before the album even came out, and when it did, there was no way they were able to live up to the hype.

I wish we had channels like that here, we have a few oldies and classic rock channels, but hardly anything specializing in current rock/pop.

I think the big reason people are so against hip hop is the fact that it really has taken over. I mean, if you don't like Hoobastank or Green Day, you have plenty of escapes that you won't hear them or anything that sounds like them, people who don't like hip hop do not have that luxury unless you wanna go the country route.
