what shows do you have that you plan to stop after a certain season and pretend the rest didn't happen?

I have the first season of Happy Days and will definately get seasons 2 and 3 (and maybe 4) but I am surewill not buy the later seasons, once Potsie sings "Pumps Your Blood", I'm out.

I also don't know if I'd bother with the last 2 seasons of Diff'rent Strokes.

The only series I will definitely stop purchasesing is The Andy Griffith Show after Season 5.

I wasn't positive about buying Seasons 7 and 8 of The Cosby Show, but I will once they are released.

There are two Mystery Science Theater 3000 sets I won't buy (Volumes 4 and 5) because I don't like the episodes contained in those collections. Those were not very goo episodes. I plan on getting a few individual episodes, The Essentials collection, and Volumes 2, 3, 6, and 7. I have the first Volume.

Happy Days did have a few okay episodes after Howard left, but IMO, the quality of the show was never the same once Scott Baio joined (ironically timed around the same point Fonzie "jumped the shark").

Diff'rent Strokes, I agree it's the only way to see those episodes, but from the latter episodes I caught on N@N/TV Land, I think those last 2 seasons are best left forgotten, lol

Well I like to have complete shows, but with Dallas, I might not buy the last 4 seasons but my collection will feel incomplete without those though.

well, I am not a huge Dallas fan, but from the logic standpoint of it, ending it after the 1986-1987 season would be smart since that was the end of Victoria Principal on the show

Married with Children at Season 6: 1992-1993: By this season married with children started to show it's age and got really stupid

Cosby Show: Season 5:1990-1992: As much as I love Cosby, the last two seasons were the pits. Olivia made the show the jump the shark

Roseanne: Season 6:1993-1994: After this season Roseanne became reallt stupid. DO NOT EVEN TALK TO ME ABOUT THE LAST SEASON

GOLDEN GIRLS: STILL UNDECICDED ABOUT BUYING THE LAST SEASON 1991-1992. That SEASON THE SHOW GOT SILLY AND STUPID EXECPT I DID LOVE THE ENDING OF THE GG.

i have seasons 1 thru 6 of friends on dvd but im not sure if im going to buy the rest of the eps.

ALF. The episodes were cut, at poor visual quality, and the show wasn't as much of a childhood nostalgia trip as I thought it'd be.

Man dont do it, Al is a legend you got to get all the 11 seasons,if you got to get every season on DVD it has to be Married With Children it's a comedy, one of a kind not like the rest that just copy each other. There will never be another show like this,i know it got a little silly later in years, but it's different to anything that ever came out on TV. Married With Children and Sledge Hammer two great original shows.

I agree with the rest, why bother with The Simpsons on all the time,Full House you have to pay me to watch that these days,Roseanne and The Cosby Show, ok to watch not to buy, but the Bundys, never stop, get them all it will be a collectors item when they stop releasing them worth a bit of money if you decide to sell them later i guarantee you, the show was a classic just dipped down when Seven was on it for a short time,but picked up again.

It's on everywhere i'm a fan but i doubt i ever buy any of it i try to buy the shows hardly get airplayed over here like Three's Company,Taxi,
Sledge Hammer and hopefully Welcome Back Kotter and Perfect Strangers get all seasons to come out in the next few years also and i kind of liked Wings,Night Court and Coach but really like to see Dear John and Don Adams from Get Smart release a Sit com i seen when i was real young called Check It Out.

I liked Happy Days but the show had some shocker episodes in later years but i love the episode when Fonzie teachers his class on how to fix a engine i think, i cant remember, but it was a classic episode, the fonz got upset with his students not knowing what to do,Fonzie sent everyone to the back of the class facing the wall.

Diff'rent Strokes first few seasons was great but when Sam came boy the show went down the drain, i can't think of a show to go so bad like this but i'm sure their is.

Charmed. The only seasons I want of the show are the first 3 seasons when the show was true to its meaning. After that is garbage in my opinion.

I thought season 4, where Rose McGowan was added to the cast, was also good. It was still Charmed that season. But the past 3 seasons have been more fantasy and less drama. How many times do they need to keep remaking episodes about demons trying to turn Wyatt evil, or how many times do we need to see that Leo puts his family first before being a whitelighter, elder, avatar, whatever-the-heck-he-is-this week? But I would argue that season 4 had the same quality as the Prue years.

I think I'm alone in preferring the Terri years to the Chrissy years, I guess it's because the show had more of an 80's feel then while it was 70's with Suzanne, and I am a bigger fan of the 1980's than the 70's. I also prefer the latter seasons of One Day At A Time to the early ones for probably the same reasons.

I prefer the Terri years as well. For myself at least, TC always had a 70s vibe to it.

it did sorta, but I feel that once Janet got the Joan Jett hairdo in 1979, the "feel" of the show changed, when you see the first two seasons and much of season 3, you know you're watching a 70's sitcom, but then it started feeling less and less 70's as Janet changed her hair, and then Larry's hair stopped being as huge (even though big hair was one of the most remembered things of the 1980's, lol)

Diff'rent Strokes, I agree it's the only way to see those episodes, but from the latter episodes I caught on N@N/TV Land, I think those last 2 seasons are best left forgotten, lol


I thought the last two seasons of Diff'rent Strokes were okay. Of course, when I watched DS when it first aired I had a major crush on Kimberly, and she was really hot in the last season...in the two or three episodes that she was in, anyway.

As I recall, they ballooned to popularity in 1990. I have a pic of my sis and I dressed up as Lisa Simpson (my sis) and Maggie Simpson (me) for Halloween in 1990.

now that I have The X-Files on DVD, I know that season 7 is where my collection stops. Considering they're releasing "Mythology" collections, I will pick up the final set just because it'll have the series finale on it. But season 7 was Duchovney's last full-time season and even then the show was starting to go downhill... even for half-price, the Robert Patrick seasons are still too expensive considering how the only good episodes those last 2 seasons were the few shows Mulder appeared in.

I agree that the voices, especially Homer's, were still being perfected at the time, but I still think the first season wasn't that terribly atrocious, remember it was the season that made us fall in love in the first place. South Park is the same way, the first season is so crudely done and the voices don't seem right, but it's still funny.

OMG...that was FOREVER ago. I was in JUNIOR HIGH when it came out. Hard to believe they start their 9th season in the fall....doesn't seem that long ago! :eek:

Do you remember when EVERYBODY was really pissed off at SP during their first two or so seasons? Parents kept complaining that SP was a cartoon and that it wasn't for kids...DUH, that's why the creators put up a TV-14 rating on SP! :crazy: And yes...it's a cartoon, but who says cartoons have to be for kids only? Good times, indeed. :lol:

I remember at the time SP debuted, my area didn't have Comedy Central. We got it in 1998 though, so I was able to watch SP then.
