That was one fine halftime show, dammit!

Such a major contrast from the crap we got last year, huh? No "wardrobe malfunctions", no Justin freakin Timberlake. Just Paul rockin' out & putting on a great show.

I'm so glad I got to see him live a few times.

Compared to last year's, this was much better in my opinion. He did a great job and he kicked ass!

I have never watched the Super Bowl before in my life, but I actually tuned in to the football game this year to see the half time show. Paul was awesome! Even though he's 62 , his voice is still in excellent shape for singing. He rocks! :guitar:

that was incredible! I love how they picked somebody timeless like Paul McCartney. He's one of those singers who never goes out of "style". I also liked how simple it was. Just him playing the guitar and the piano (plus his band) and no stupid dancers or all that fancy crap around the stage.

We didn't bother with the game, but I sat my whole family down to show my kids what REAL, lasting musical genius is all about when the halftime show was on! They recognized the stuff, cuz I have "Wings - Hits and History" and "Beatles 1", and play them regularly on car rides. I was soooo proud LOL! Paul sounded great and played wonderfully, never mind his age! Fabulous lights, images, and pyrotechnics as well!

(We did have a laugh when Paul took off his jacket, BTW--my older daughter said, "Oooh, stripping off like Janet!" and I said, "Wardrobe malfunction!" LOL!)

I would like to see any Super Bowl show in the future to top this one! ohno:

We had a running bet going as to what songs Paul was going to do.
I got two right - Live and Let Die and Hey Jude.

That was a great halftime show. One great artist a bunch of classic songs and that's it. No dancers, no theatrics, no friggin Justin Timberlake!

Earlier today, I was looking at the Yahoo boards to read reaction to the Halftime show & someone wrote:

"Ashlee Simpson beheading for '06 Halftime! (oughta be a crowd pleaser."

Sick, but I bust out laughing anyway.

LOL Well, next year the Super Bowl will be in my home state Michigan (Detroit) so I expect that somehow MoTown will be represented!

I just found out today that the Super Bowl halftime show is very well staged. What I mean is that the promoters hire all those people that surround the stage. I guess it's true. Did you notice the large number of very young(preteens) that were rockin' there? They probably knew that he was once in Wings and that "other "B" group"? This is all part of the "show biz' thing that they do every year. They did it for Madonna, Janet Jackson, and everyone else.

It just seems dishonest . Another myth shattered! Well they certainly didn't need to hire fans for Paul! I would have been there for nothing given the chance! I HATE show business!

Paul rocks! :notworthy :notworthy

Penny Lane, your right, and that is the only problem I had with the show last night. When they showed the people around the stage, I was thinking they probably have no idea what a great opportunity they are in to be that close to Paul McCartney. But at least we got to see Paul perform. :D

This is the first time Paul McCartney of the Beatles sang on the Super Bowl Halftime Show. There are no incidents compared to last year's halftime show. The performance was splendid. Go Paul!!!:woohoo:

You're right. A lot of my friends were in the surrounding audience full of teenagers. However, a good majority of them (atleast the ones I knew) knew who Paul McCartney was.
